Debugging question...

Hi @alex-bochkov and @Blake-goofy,

I was looking at trying out some changes I made to the code, but I've never debugged an SSMS Add-in before.
Do either of you have info on how to run the add-in in debug mode so I can step through the code?
Any info you can provide is appreciated.

You only need to change a few things:

• Grant your account full access to the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 22\Release\Common7\IDE\Extensions folder so you don't have to start Visual Studio as an administrator.
• On the Debug tab, set SSMS as the startup application:
  C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 22\Release\Common7\IDE\SSMS.exe
  Also, clear the startup arguments.
• On the VSIX tab, configure it to copy the extension into:
  C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 22\Release\Common7\IDE\Extensions\AxialSqlTools\

Also, whenever you change the command structure, you need to update the following file:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 22\Release\Common7\IDE\Extensions\extensions.configurationchanged

Just make a small change, such as adding a space, and save the file. This tells SSMS that the UI configuration has changed and needs to be rebuilt.
