BUffer for serde?

So Buffer seems to only support bitcode Encode/Decode, are there plans to support serialize/deseralize again?

It's possible but non-trivial because the serde encoder is using the internal buffer allocation to record the order the type information is received from serde so the type can be deserialized properly. It hasn't yet been implemented because I didn't consider the ~5-10% performance improvement worth the added complexity. Consider that serde imposes a relatively high overhead compared to derive so any performance wins would be smaller here.
