Developer Documentation

How to set up from scratch

  1. First, git clone the project:
git clone https://github.com/panda2742/42-Inception
cd 42-Inception
  1. Then, generate secrets/env:
make secrets

It will generate automatically and securely required secrets and environment variables.

  1. Once the Installation steps are done, build and wait for the whole project to be built:
make all
  1. Stopping the containers:
make down
  1. Enabling the containers:
make up

Launch the project

  1. Build the project:
make all
  1. Stopping the containers:
make down
  1. Enabling the containers:
make up

Use relevants commands to manage the containers and volumes

Cleaning commands:

  • make down: just shuts down the project.
  • make clean: down + stop containers, remove containers, images and networks.
  • make fclean: clean + remove volumes (from daemon and file system).
  • make verydangerousrule: fclean + delete secrets and prune system cache.

Identify where the project data is stored and how it persists

There are the different folders related to the volumes/data:

  • MariaDB: /home/ehosta/data/mariadb
  • WordPress: /home/ehosta/data/wordpress
  • Adminer: /home/ehosta/data/adminer
  • Wondercat: /home/ehosta/data/wondercat
  • Prometheus: /home/ehosta/data/prometheus
  • Grafana: /home/ehosta/data/grafana
