ts-deadcode

License: MIT

A zero-dependency static analyzer that detects orphaned files and dead code in TypeScript and JavaScript codebases.

Why ts-deadcode?

Over time, projects accumulate forgotten utilities, deprecated components, and abandoned experiments. These files:

  • Slow down type-checking and bundling.
  • Confuse AI coding agents by providing stale context.
  • Inflate container images and npm distribution sizes.

ts-deadcode runs instant static analysis across your project's import graph to pinpoint files that are completely orphaned.

Quick Usage

# Scan current project
npx ts-deadcode

# Explicitly specify entrypoint
npx ts-deadcode ./my-app --entry ./my-app/src/index.ts

# Output JSON for CI checks
npx ts-deadcode --json
