I see fastMcp doesn't have support for _meta tag but works with meta. Is it correct functionality? Has everybody stopped working with python, each example is about react, js, ts, solid, svelte etc.

Yes—meta= is the decorator argument for the official Python SDK's 1.x FastMCP. _meta is the corresponding JSON field in the protocol. You can see meta in the decorator signature, and the tool model explicitly aliases it to _meta.

There is now an official Python QR server example, with a setup README. It uses the same meta={"ui": {"resourceUri": VIEW_URI}} pattern, and registers the matching HTML resource with MIME type text/html;profile=mcp-app.

One version caveat: that example imports mcp.server.fastmcp, the SDK's 1.x API. The SDK's 2.x migration guide replaces it with MCPServer. Also distinguish the official mcp package from the separate fastmcp package when checking examples.
