Qucs-s Ver: 25.2.1
OS : openSUSE Tumbleweed
Package : qucs-s-25.1.2-1.1.x86_64
Feature Request (not a bug report)
First time Qucs-s user, and on first circuit I got to the point of needing to add a brushless DC Motor -- and couldn't find one, or any similar output device to substitute in the circuit? Searching uncovered Suggestion to Add Output Devices on QUCS Library which is point-for-point what I was attempting to find in Qucs-s, but couldn't. It isn't clear from the link whether the addition itself was accepted into the Qucs library or whether it was the submission itself that was accepted.
If this was implemented in Qucs, is it possible or port the Output Devices models to Qucs-s? If it wasn't implemented, it this something that can be added to Qucs-s in the future? Or is this something left to each user to implement though some type of equation that is used in the circuit in lieu of an actual output device component. (it may just be a RTFM issue in Qucs-s Help, and I've not gotten to that part yet...)
List of Proposed Output Devices
The link provides a basic list of output devices to be implemented in the Qucs library. This is a very short, but very good list, as it includes the basic components most students are provided in their circuits courses in college as part of their EE/ESET program. The list is:
- Buzzer
- Speaker
- DC Motor
- Servo Motor
- Hex Display
- Seven Segment
- Lamp
- Heater
As this is literally day-one of my introduction to Qucs-s (or any circuit simulation software other than the manual spiral notebook, straight-edge, pencil and eraser), I'm not sure if this is the proper place for such a request or whether the is a forum or IRC elsewhere that would be more proper. If this is more appropriate elsewhere, let me know and I'm happy to migrate the issue.
