This guide takes you from a video file to a live 24/7 stream. It takes a few minutes.

You need a **video file** and a **destination** to stream to: a YouTube channel, or a stream key from Twitch, Facebook, Kick, X, TikTok or any other RTMP platform.

A loop is a stream you set up once and leave running. There are two kinds:

  • Pre-recorded video loops play your uploaded videos on repeat, at up to 4K 60fps. This guide covers them.
  • Scene loops are live shows you design in the studio, with live inputs, web pages and overlays. Choose Scene when you create a loop. See Scenes.

Your first stream

When you sign up at streamloop.app, Streamloop walks you through your first loop step by step. You pick the type, a name and a destination, connect the destination, pick the quality, add your media and choose how to pay. The steps below follow the same path from the dashboard, for your next loops.

On the **Loops** page, click **New loop**. Enter a **Loop name** (for example `Nature sounds`) and pick a **Resolution** and **Framerate** (24, 30 or 60 fps). If you see a choice between **Pre-recorded video** and **Scene**, click **Choose video**. Otherwise click **Create loop**. The loop opens on its **Playlist** tab. On **Video**, click **Upload** to add a file (MP4, MOV or MKV, up to 15 GB per file), or **From URL** to import from Google Drive, YouTube or a direct link. Add more videos to build a playlist, or add an **Audio** track to play over the video. See [Build and schedule your playlist](/build-and-schedule-your-playlist). Open the **General** tab. Under **Destination**, click **Connect a destination**. Pick **YouTube · Connect channel** to link your channel with Google, or pick a platform (or **Custom RTMP**) and paste its stream key. See [YouTube](/platform/youtube), [Twitch](/platform/twitch) and [Other RTMP platforms](/platform/other-rtmp). Still in **General**, **Output quality** shows the resolution (720p, 1080p, 1440p or 2160p (4K)) and frame rate (24, 25, 30 or 60 fps). Higher quality costs more per hour, and 1080p at 30fps suits most streams. Streamloop also streams HDR video when your destination supports it. See [Billing](/billing) for prices. When the loop shows **Stream is idle**, click **Start stream**. Your video starts looping to your destination within a minute or two. To go live later, turn on **Schedule loop**, enter a time like `tomorrow 9am`, and click **Schedule the stream**. Your loop is live. It keeps streaming 24/7 from the cloud. You can close your laptop and it stays on air. Streaming uses credits from your balance. To try Streamloop, start a monthly plan with a \$1 trial: 7 days of one stream, card required. Or top up as you go. See [Billing](/billing).

What's next

Reorder videos, shuffle, add an audio track, repeat the schedule and edit while live. Send one loop to up to 5 destinations at once. Credits, monthly plans, the price per resolution and what happens if you run low. How Streamloop keeps your stream live around the clock and what to check if it stops.
