Release Notes

Features

UI Replaced/Revamped

Grimoire's frontend was originally designed in Tauri+Svelte. This was thrown out in favour of Zed Industries' GPUi framework, which renders native UI elements rather than relying on encapsulated HTML/JS via WebKit.

Reader Window Reworked

New controls are now available for the eBook Reader feature, including:

  • Page/Text colour controls
  • Zoom
  • Single/Dual-Page View (CBR/CBZ Only)

Improved Library Import

Library import now supports drag-and-drop from the OS' native file management tools (Explorer, Finder, et al). Entire folders containing eBooks in supported formats can be drag-and-dropped straight into the active library window and Grimoire will recurse through the folders, adding whatever it finds.

Device Manager Improvements

The app now plays connect/disconnect chimes when a device is plugged in or unplugged

Bug Fixes

macOS-Specific

  • Grimoire is now officially signed by Apple, and should install properly without Gatekeeper complaining.
  • The DMG package now displays proper branding

General Fixes

  • Now grabs focus on startup
  • Obeys proper, OS-native window management, including typical keyboard shortcuts (Alt-F4/CMD-Q, etc.)
