Summary

Show how the Mastra Extended sample keeps chat-default / embedding-default portable while a custom recipe selects models on AWS, GCP, Azure, or Scaleway. Add four recipe fragments, exact Azure embedding revision and versionless chat examples, and .env model selection with existing aliases as defaults. Correct the obsolete provider.options.model instructions and workspace-only link.

Part of DefangLabs/defang-global#234. Depends on the CLI/provider implementations linked there; keep draft until those compatible releases are available.

Validation

• The literal Compose file loads with the deployment preflight tool's pinned compose-go v2.7.1: four services, two models. No loader dependency bump needed.
• Compiled Defang CLI compose config against the sample: default selectors remain chat-default / embedding-default; a local .env selects qwen3-235b-a22b-instruct literally.
• All four recipe YAML files parse, and new README file links resolve to real files.
• Script tests: 22 passed.
• Copywriting, copy-editing and independent humanizer review completed.
• Live inference and end-to-end model persistence await the coordinated provider implementation; no cloud deployment was performed by this sample PR.
