NodeLab previously showed an unavailable placeholder, while edit-session diagnostics and connection checks rebuilt a built-in-only registry. It now creates a separate text-source → host-admitted custom node → text-sink draft, edits source text, displays backend validation, and saves/reopens through existing persistence.

The versioned service-owned catalog exposes canonical ports, the trusted in-process profile and complete CN-01 identities. Exact selection is resolved before session creation. One immutable registry reaches edit sessions, provider builders, canonicalization, diagnostics and connection checks. Saved custom pins stay intact; stale/missing implementations remain visible and blocking. New custom nodes require exact pins, general patches cannot repin or provide definitions, and name-only custom insertion is explicitly unsupported. The legacy palette remains built-in-only.

Failed replacement preserves the active draft. Superseded, malformed and late-created sessions are closed; failed closes retain exact ownership with explicit app-scoped recovery. Failed catalog refresh removes stale creation choices while preserving the draft and saved path. The default desktop catalog is honestly empty until its host registers implementations. There is no execution button, arbitrary code loader, Local Agent, publishing or new tool grant.

CN-03 PR94 has integrated as 46aad5841ca8f2185e639da44f73474af045bc13. This branch incorporates it by normal merge, preserving both admitted plan sections and leaving its loop core unchanged. A targeted saved/reopened loop regression verifies exact-catalog admission, unchanged blocking pins under changed/missing catalogs, invalid-add refusal without mutation, and zero callbacks. NodeLab does not author loop templates or grants; the handoff identifies the future complete host-pinned identity and single-prompt contract.

Validation on exact candidate b4854d8d62bb58ef2917694ffcd8355733c252d7:

  • 1,084 service library +65 integration tests passed (1,149 total), zero failed/ignored. Exact CI commands also discover and pass the unchanged 15-test loop suite and all 10 custom-node workflow tests; a dedicated hosted step now runs the latter.
  • 740 frontend tests pass, including 10 focused decoder/controller/presenter cases. Formatting, typecheck, full/critical/a11y lint, production frontend build, scheduler-only guard, 28 traceability tests, staged and current-main range traceability pass. All-target package Clippy passes with the existing unrelated inference dead-field warning.
  • Styled real Chromium component → loopback → rebuilt Rust service → filesystem passes all eight claims: empty/error/nonempty catalog handling, keyboard creation and visible focus, pointer edit/save/reopen, exact pins, replaced-session cleanup, missing implementation blocking, and failed-refresh recovery preserving draft/path. This is headless verification with a disposable profile/store, GPU disabled and container-verifier-only no-sandbox mode.
  • Private independent GPT-6.1 Sol High review by delegated task /root/contract_review explicitly approves this exact commit. This is a completed source-bound private review, not a submitted GitHub review object. Its verbatim completion receipt is retained in the delegated task (SHA-256 b50130a3d626fd46e29c2ad818e1fd8f37d48af8daa4859ff0d68a40c93a9ed5). All 28 source and 7 evidence hashes match. Qualification and retained receipts include combined service/browser/discovery results and unchanged original browser, refresh-red and missing-GLib evidence.

Local native startup/interaction remains unqualified: the documented Linux prerequisites are missing, and apt-cache policy was denied reading /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/80-applied-apt-retries. Provisioning stopped there without privileged retry, alternate route or settings/credential changes. The original glib-sys compile failure is retained. Hosted native compilation/IPC on the prior published head passed; fresh combined-head hosted native checks remain required. No GPU, trained-model T3, default installed-node, inference-backed/effectful-loop or release claim is made. PR92 afe33029 and its unique trained-text source/evidence and missing T3 gate remain untouched; root README and branches are preserved.

Integration evidence: PR94's three post-merge workflows are successful on 46aad584. This exact candidate's Quality Gates, Headless Workflow Contract, CPU Composition and Runtime Separation all completed successfully; CodeRabbit status is also successful. A fresh fetch immediately before integration confirms main is still 46aad584, an ancestor of approved head b4854d8d; the worktree is clean, CN-03 core and root README are unchanged, and GitHub reports the PR clean/mergeable. Independent exact-commit review remains applicable. The normal merge request was subsequently rejected by automatic approval review; see the blocker below.

The earlier published head's audit job failed with advisory-bulk HTTP 503; that failure is retained as failure evidence. No old-head retry, audit suppression or lockfile change was made here. The combined source was pushed once for fresh CI after PR94 integration.

Merge authorization blocker (2026-10-22): the normal merge request for this exact head was rejected by automatic approval review, which stated that the trusted request authorized preparing a reviewable PR but did not explicitly authorize this irreversible merge. The operation was not retried or bypassed. Read-only verification confirms PR95 remains open and unmerged at b4854d8d62bb58ef2917694ffcd8355733c252d7, main remains 46aad5841ca8f2185e639da44f73474af045bc13, and both refs are retained. All source/review/CI/dependency gates described above passed; explicit user merge authorization is the remaining blocker. No PR95 post-merge CI exists because no merge executed. Any later authorized retry must first recheck current main and the exact candidate/check state.

CN-03 serial dependency coordination: PR94 head fcb2d7f integrates first, and PR95 must wait through PR94's post-merge CI before reconciliation. I inspected PR95 head 802544a: its custom_nodes.rs change appends the authoring module and service_config.rs threads the same NodeRegistry into edit sessions; neither replaces PR94's loop catalog/admission interfaces. Preserve the complete immutable catalog and new try_new_with_tool_loops / tool_loop_identity APIs, ToolLoop schema-9 template, and per-instance exact loop pin/behavior validation. The ordinary CN-01 authoring palette grants no tool authority; optional tool-loop ports and data overrides remain unsupported. After integrating PR94 normally, reconcile shared documentation and rerun both CN-02 authoring and all 15 tool-loop tests on PR95's combined head. Original PR94 audit job 119603336352 failed on npm HTTP 503, not an advisory verdict. The single authorized retry is now active as Quality Gates attempt 2, job 119609641696, on unchanged source/dependencies; CN-03 owns that retry and it must not be duplicated. No suppression or dependency/lock changes are planned.

PR94 remains BLOCKED and unmerged. The one accepted audit retry (Quality Gates attempt 2, job 119609641696) also failed: npm advisory bulk POST returned HTTP 503 at 02:58:42 UTC with no advisory verdict. Original and retry logs are preserved on PR94; dependency-tree verification and frontend asset build in the audit job were skipped. All other advertised checks passed. No more failed-job retries will be requested without materially new relevant recovery evidence; no source, lockfile, dependency or audit-policy changes were made. Continue holding PR95 reconciliation/merge until PR94's qualification, normal merge and post-merge CI have completed.

PR94 qualification resumed only after new audit-specific evidence: unchanged candidate npm audit exited 0 with an actual advisory report showing total vulnerabilities 0; lockfile hash and source remain unchanged. After verifying no equivalent retry active, the parent-authorized one further failed-job retry was accepted for existing failed audit job 119609641696 (Quality Gates attempt 3). PR94 still owns this retry; do not duplicate it. PR95 remains on hold through PR94's complete qualification, normal merge and terminal post-merge CI. All prior HTTP 503 failures and skipped stages remain preserved; no audit/dependency/lock changes were made.

PR94 merged normally as 46aad58 after all exact-head gates passed. The hosted audit now returned a real zero-vulnerability verdict, and previously skipped dependency-tree/build stages passed. Please continue holding PR95 reconciliation/merge until post-merge CI on 46aad58 reaches terminal success; CN-03 is following those runs. Preserve PR94's immutable loop admission/pins/schema-9 behavior when integrating the resulting main. No branch deletion or history rewrite was used; PR92 is unchanged.

PR94 post-merge hold CLEARED: 46aad58 has terminal success from Quality Gates (39721715363), Headless Contract (39721715366), Runtime Separation (39721715377), CPU Composition (39721820171), and CodeQL (39721715321), with no pending or unsuccessful commit checks. Exact-merge CI passed all 15 loop regressions, the real audit, and native/C# package/quickstart checks. Your current b4854d8 already descends from 46aad58 (behind_by=0). Continue your own combined-head source review/required gates before normal merge; preserve the immutable loop catalog, exact pins, schema-9 template and behavior validation. Reconcile shared plan/ledger/issues to mark only the bounded pure-controller CN-03 slice accepted with these receipts; inference/effect capabilities remain deferred, and PR92's trained-model requirement is unchanged.
