feat: GitHub Page link in every organ board header #325

Closed

Description

@Jammy2211

Overview

Each of the six organ boards (Mind tasks, Brain morning, Heart readiness, Hands release, Memory knowledge, Organism/Scientist) renders a small muted header line carrying a markdown version link to its generated .md twin. This task adds a second clickable text link beside it, reading GitHub Page, pointing at that repo's README.md on github.com — the way back from the Pages-hosted board to the repository front door. High up in the page, next to the existing link, not in the cross-board footer.

Batch member organ-board-github-link of 2026-08-31-pm, running /start_dev --auto at effective autonomy safe (feature, Difficulty small ≤ medium cap).

Plan

  • Add a GitHub Page anchor beside each board's markdown version link (six boards across five repos; PyAutoBrain carries two boards).
  • Derive the href from each generator's existing identity surface (Mind repos.yaml home, Heart config/repos.yaml owners, Hands/Memory/Scientist snapshot owner) — never a hardcoded owner (tenant firewall).
  • Brain board is the odd one out (its index.html has no markdown version link yet): add the standard mdsrc line carrying both links, since --apply already writes board.md beside index.html (stated decision, see PR).
  • Extend each generator's existing board test to assert the new anchor (the prompt's Witness).
  • One small PR per repo; Mind ledger updates ride a claude/** branch.
Detailed implementation plan

Affected Repositories

  • PyAutoBrain (primary — Mind dashboard generator + Brain board)
  • PyAutoHeart
  • PyAutoHands
  • PyAutoMemory
  • PyAutoScientist
  • PyAutoMind (registry/ledger only — no code)

Branch Survey

Repository Current Branch Dirty?
pyautobrain main clean
pyautoheart main clean
pyautohands main clean
pyautomemory main clean
pyautoscientist main clean

Suggested branch: feature/organ-board-github-link (all five repos)

Implementation Steps

  1. PyAutoBrain — Mind dashboard agents/conductors/intake/_intake.py (render_dashboard_html, ~L2316): inside the if home: block, extend the mdsrc paragraph to {link("dashboard.md", "markdown version")} · {link("README.md", "GitHub Page")} — link() already prefixes {home}/blob/main/, so the href resolves to the repo README on github.com. Degrades exactly as today when home is empty (paragraph skipped).
  2. PyAutoBrain — Brain board board/_board.py: in collect() add the board's own repo name (board_family.get("brain", "PyAutoBrain")) to data; in render_html append a <p class="muted mdsrc"> line after the stats strip with <a href="board.md">markdown version</a> · <a href="https://github.com/{org}/{repo}/blob/main/README.md">GitHub Page</a>. Owner comes from derive_org(repo_homes()), already in data["org"].
  3. PyAutoHeart heart/dashboard.py (~L1589): append · <a href="{github}">GitHub Page</a> inside the verdict line's muted span, beside markdown version. Repo name derived from PAGES_URL, owner from REPO_OWNERS (config/repos.yaml); segment omitted when the owner is unknown.
  4. PyAutoHands autohands/board.py (_render_html, ~L510): build · <a href="https://github.com/{owner}/{repo}/blob/main/README.md">GitHub Page</a> from snapshot["owner"]/snapshot["repo"] (guarded), append after the markdown version anchor.
  5. PyAutoMemory scripts/board.py (~L1172): reuse _repo_url(snapshot); extend the mdsrc paragraph with · <a href="{repo_url}/blob/main/README.md">GitHub Page</a> (guarded on empty).
  6. PyAutoScientist scripts/organism_board.py (~L252): build the href from snapshot["owner"] + the board's own repo name; extend the mdsrc paragraph the same way.
  7. Tests — extend the existing board assertions: PyAutoBrain/tests/test_intake_dashboard.py (test_html_sections_link_their_markdown_source area), PyAutoBrain/tests/test_board.py (test_html_is_self_contained_with_one_tap_payloads area), PyAutoHeart/tests/test_dashboard.py, PyAutoHands/tests/test_board.py, PyAutoMemory/tests/test_board.py, PyAutoScientist/tests/test_organism_board.py — each asserts an <a> with text GitHub Page whose href ends in /blob/main/README.md under the right github.com/<owner>/<repo>.

Key Files

  • PyAutoBrain/agents/conductors/intake/_intake.py — Mind dashboard renderer
  • PyAutoBrain/board/_board.py — Brain board renderer
  • PyAutoHeart/heart/dashboard.py — Heart readiness board
  • PyAutoHands/autohands/board.py — Hands release board
  • PyAutoMemory/scripts/board.py — Memory knowledge board
  • PyAutoScientist/scripts/organism_board.py — Organism board

Work Classification

Organ repos (neither library nor workspace) — direct dev on the session clones (web-github environment); no worktree root.

Difficulty override (carried from the prompt, recorded not silent)

The sizing faculty returned too-large (score 13/16) and Unattended: needs-slicing — almost entirely max(0, repo_count - 1) * 2 breadth, not depth. The change is one uniform anchor per generator with no API or behaviour surface, so it is filed small and ships as one task with one small PR per repo rather than a phase split. The Feature Agent run reproduced the disagreement (declared small but derived too-large — declared wins).

Original Prompt

on each of the 6 organ dashboards, next to "markdown version" or similar but
high up can you include a clickable text URL link saying "GitHub Page" which
goes to the README.md

Full prompt file: PyAutoMind/draft/feature/organs/github_page_link_in_every_organ_board.md (advances to active/ with this issue).

Witness: each of the six generated board HTML pages contains an <a> whose text is GitHub Page and whose href resolves to that repo's README.md on github.com, asserted in that generator's existing board test.

    Shipped

All six organ boards now carry a GitHub Page link in their header line, merged 2026-09-01:

Each header mdsrc paragraph now reads markdown version · GitHub Page, the second anchor resolving to {home}/blob/main/README.md. The owner/repo identity comes from the existing repos.yaml-derived home and derive_org — no hardcoded owner anywhere in the non-test diff — and the segment drops out cleanly when the repo identity is unknown, exactly as the existing markdown version link does. The Brain board, which previously had no markdown version link at all, gained the standard two-link line so it reads like its five siblings. Board tests were extended in each repo to assert the new anchor and its href.

Shipped as a member (organ-board-github-link) of batch 2026-08-31-pm under --auto at effective level safe; all five legs of the autonomous-ship gate passed 2026-08-31 and the human merge landed 2026-09-01. Close-out ran 2026-09-02: the batch review merged the PRs but never closed the task.

Merge proven per repo against origin/main (git merge-base --is-ancestor <mergeCommit> origin/main) for all five PRs.
