Summary

Independent Scientist previews now use the cockpit’s three-row layout: an instance-owned home link (MyScientist / Cockpit in the demo) and grey IDLE placeholder, a horizontally scrollable organ strip, and a selected-board toolbar with Reload / New tab controls. The shell stays visible while board content scrolls.

Reload targets the selected configured board or local view. New tab opens that same destination. Existing setup text, clipboard payloads, connection rules and paused observations are preserved. IDLE means awaiting work; it is not an aggregated health verdict.

Scripts Changed

• scripts/instance_navigation.py — cockpit header, toolbar and scoped shell styling.
• scripts/instance_navigation.js — toolbar destinations, reload, home navigation and overflow hint.
• scripts/organism_board.py — instance-only scrolling stage and no-JavaScript fallback.
• STARTER.md — describe the shell and controls.

Validation

• 148 Python tests and 7 JavaScript checks passed; final renderer checks also passed (26 tests).
• 30 browser cases across five viewport widths in light/dark: actual popup destinations, local and connected reloads, horizontal scrollbar, fixed toolbar during content scrolling, navigation/history, clipboard parity and inactive network isolation. No-JavaScript content and external-board fallback checked.
• Browser screenshots use visible native scrollbars; OS scrollbar settings can still control appearance.
• Heart STALE: release validation incomplete: no rehearsal for current source; no red/yellow reasons. Development shipping permitted; no release-readiness claim.

Publication

Updated PyAutoEmbryo pages and tester ZIP are prepared locally. Live publication follows human merge. The existing cockpit is a read-only reference and is unchanged.
