Summary

Docs for hpc-campaign phase 1 (PyAutoLabs/PyAutoFit#1735): the per-fit status record.

  • config/general.yaml: hpc.status: true and hpc.status_interval_s: 60, with the library's comments
  • scripts/cookbooks/search.py: three new sections after Parallelization — Status Record (the .status.json / .status.jsonl / .traceback.txt files beside the output folder, and what each state means), Batch Job Time Limits (#SBATCH --signal=B:USR1@300, start Python with exec so the fit receives the signal, what SIGUSR1 / SIGTERM do, resubmitting resumes), Turning It Off
  • regenerated notebooks/cookbooks/search.ipynb, llms-full.txt, workspace_index.json

Merge after PyAutoLabs/PyAutoFit#1738 is released: the config keys and files only exist from that release.

Note: the exec python ... advice follows from how Slurm delivers B: signals (to the batch shell only); it has not yet been tried on a real job with this code.

Test Plan

  • PYAUTO_TEST_MODE=1 python scripts/cookbooks/search.py exits 0
  • Smoke: pyauto-heart smoke autofit autolens_test on the phase 1 worktree (PyAutoFit + PyAutoNerves + autofit_workspace branches together): 47 passed, 0 failed
