The staging deploy of slice 20's merge (9ec158c) stopped at test:e2e (run 39574173219), while the pull request's run on the same code passed. Locally the failures came from two causes:

  • Waits too short under load: the fake model streams 15ms apart, so a drafted section takes about 1.5s alone and, with many workers, past Playwright's default 5s per check. expect.timeout is now 15s in playwright.config.ts; no check's condition changes. Before: 10 of 90 tests failed this way with 12 workers.
  • Jump to latest stopped short: clicked while opened searches were still sliding open, the smooth scroll ended at the old end and stayed there, with no button. The conversation's observer now takes a jump on its way to the new end (src/features/chat/chat.tsx), with a unit test that fails without the fix. The layout test also waits for the answer to end before opening the searches.

Also records slice 20's merge in the plan, and a local-only gateway error under load as KI-9.

Changes nothing in src/server or src/lib, so the measurement lane needn't wait.

Local checks: verify passed (489 unit tests, 1 new); test:e2e three times over passed (201); the Jump to latest test passed 120 times of 120, against 2 failures in 60 before.
