fix: forward mfa_token when a native token request requires MFA - #1733
When a native token request needed MFA, the iOS and Android bridges rejected with a fixed code and only a message. The mfa_token never reached JS, so the app had no way to continue with mfa.challenge / mfa.verify. Both native SDKs expose the token (AuthenticationError.info in Auth0.swift, mfaRequiredErrorPayload in Auth0.Android); only the bridge dropped it.
Now each bridge rejects with mfa_required and the response body, and a0_call turns that into the same 403 AuthError the JS-side logins and web already throw:
NativeBridgeManager.a0_call
catch (e)
+ if e.code is 'mfa_required' and e.userInfo has mfa_token+ throw AuthError(code, message, { status: 403, json: userInfo })
throw AuthError(code, message, { json: e })
Covered on iOS and Android:
passwordless.loginWithOTP
credentialsManager.getCredentials / renew and getApiCredentials. Errors get type: RENEW_FAILED, code: 'mfa_required' and json.mfa_token, matching web. On Android this was Auth0.Android's MFA_REQUIRED, which had no mapping and fell back to the generic credentials manager code.
Passkey token exchange. PasskeyError.getMfaRequiredPayload() now returns the token on native too; it used to return ''.
customTokenExchange
I checked /oauth/token server-side; each of these grants can return mfa_required. Refresh token exchanges only do so through a post-login Action. Passkey and custom token exchange also do so for a tenant MFA policy.
All other failures keep their current codes, including PASSWORDLESS_LOGIN_FAILED and PASSKEY_EXCHANGE_FAILED. EXAMPLES.md now covers MFA for the database connection OTP flow and the credentials manager, and no longer marks PASSKEY_MFA_REQUIRED as web only.
Risk: this is easy to revert and changes no public types. It does change what an MFA failure looks like on native:
passwordless reported PASSWORDLESS_LOGIN_FAILED and now reports mfa_required
Android credentials manager reported the generic code and now reports mfa_required / RENEW_FAILED
passkey reported PASSKEY_EXCHANGE_FAILED / EXCHANGE_FAILED and now reports PASSKEY_MFA_REQUIRED
Apps that matched the old values for this case would branch differently. Those apps had no token to continue with anyway, and the new values are what web already returns.
Native authentication flows now surface multifactor-required errors and challenge details, allowing your app to continue with multifactor authentication during credential retrieval, token exchange, passkey sign-in, and OTP login.
Documentation
Updated examples explain how to handle multifactor challenges during OTP login and credential renewal, and clarify passkey error guidance.
Android and iOS now preserve MFA-required error details in native rejection paths, including passwordless OTP, credential retrieval, token exchange, and passkey exchange. The JavaScript bridge converts supported native errors to AuthError. Examples document MFA continuation paths.

Summary
Forward MFA payloads from native flows android/src/main/java/com/auth0/react/*, ios/NativeBridge.swift, android/src/main/java/com/auth0/react/Passwordless.kt, ios/Passwordless.swift
Android and iOS handlers check for MFA-required errors before existing rejection logic. Passwordless OTP uses the same handling.
Convert native MFA errors in JavaScript src/platforms/native/bridge/NativeBridgeManager.ts, src/platforms/native/bridge/__tests__/NativeBridgeManager.spec.ts, src/platforms/native/adapters/__tests__/NativeCredentialsManager.errors.spec.ts
NativeBridgeManager converts MFA-required errors with an MFA token to AuthError and preserves userInfo as json. Tests cover payload-present and null-userInfo cases, plus credential-renewal error wrapping.
Document MFA continuation paths EXAMPLES.md
Examples describe MFA handling for passwordless OTP login and credential renewal. The passkey MFA error description and profile-update example are also edited.

The MFA renewal guidance needs two fixes: show how to handle the challenge in the renewal example and how to save verified credentials when using the Auth0 class. These are bounded documentation risks.

Explanation
[#1729] Both native OTP failure paths use the MFA rejection helper. iOS forwards AuthenticationError.info, and a0_call builds a 403 AuthError when userInfo.mfa_token is present. Android serializes MfaRequiredErrorPayload with Gson. The available evidence does not establish that this serialization preserves both mfa_token and mfa_requirements with the required names. The described automated tests mock the bridge response rather than exercise native OTP payload serialization.
Resolution
Provide the Android SDK payload definition or an automated test that shows the serialized OTP MFA response, including mfa_token and mfa_requirements.

If a post-login Action requires MFA when the refresh token is exchanged, `getCredentials` (and `getApiCredentials`) rejects with `code: 'mfa_required'` instead. Pass `error.json.mfa_token` to the [`mfa` client](#mfa-flexible-factors-grant) to finish the renewal rather than starting a new login.

Handle MFA in the renewal example.
The preceding example treats mfa_required as a transient error and rethrows it. Add an mfa_required branch that starts the MFA flow so the example can complete renewal.

Explain how to persist verified credentials.
For the Auth0 class, mfa.verify() returns credentials but does not save them. Later getCredentials() calls still read the old credentials and can require MFA again. Document how to use and persist the verified credentials, including refresh-token handling. (raw.githubusercontent.com)
