Version to 0.17.0 and the Unreleased heading rolled up.

One consumer-visible change: DotNetWorkQueue.Dashboard.Client gains a netstandard2.0 build (#401), so a .NET Framework application can register consumers with the dashboard. It was the last package still on net8.0 and net10.0 only.

A minor rather than a patch: adding a target is additive, and every release since 0.10.0 has bumped the minor.

Nothing else since 0.16.0 beyond the implementation itself, a README update, and a review fix.

After merge

The tag waits for master's Jenkins on the merge commit, then a dry_run=true pass through publish.yml.

Pull Request Overview

This PR prepares the project for the 0.17.0 release. Although the CHANGELOG and version metadata are correctly updated, there is a major implementation gap: the PR description and CHANGELOG specify the addition of .NET Standard 2.0 support for the Dashboard Client, but the necessary changes to the project files (.csproj) are completely missing. This release should not proceed until the target framework updates are included.

About this PR

  • The PR highlights the addition of a netstandard2.0 build for the Dashboard Client (GitHub #401), but the current changes do not include any modifications to the project files (.csproj) to implement this. Only documentation and versioning metadata have been updated.

Test suggestions

  • Verify project version is updated to 0.17.0 in Directory.Build.props
  • Verify CHANGELOG.md reflects the 0.17.0 release and correctly summarizes the Dashboard Client target addition
  • Verify DotNetWorkQueue.Dashboard.Client project file includes netstandard2.0 in TargetFrameworks
Prompt proposal for missing tests
Consider implementing these tests if applicable:
1. Verify DotNetWorkQueue.Dashboard.Client project file includes netstandard2.0 in TargetFrameworks
