fix(events): clear stale pending questions from remote servers - #451
Conversation
- Drop pending forms and permissions when a session is deleted or its page returns 404 - Reconcile remembered remote directories on browser reconnect, not only local repos - Purge pending items from remote servers that are disabled or removed - Prefer the viewed session's pending item over a pinned item from another session - Time out remote proxy GET/HEAD requests that never send headers (504)

the session’s token during cleanup, capture the token when starting each fetch,

Preserve reconciliation for current, non-invalidated fetches.

…e ones - Reconcile pending forms and permissions per server on reconnect, remote resync, and when a server is enabled after connect - Resolve the directory of pending sessions with no known directory, dropping them when the session returns 404 - Drop a remote server's pending items when reconciling it fails as unreachable (status 0, 502, 504) - Generalize the pending-item pruning helper

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Limit the unreachable-server prune to the failed directory.
reconcilePendingActionsForDirectories runs one fetch per directory key in parallel with Promise.all. A 502 or 504 error for one directory key calls prunePendingActions((item) => item.serverId === serverId). That call removes every pending action for the server. The removed actions include actions that another directory reconciled successfully in the same pass.
The proxy now returns 504 when response headers do not arrive within 30 seconds. One slow listPendingPermissions or listPendingForms call can therefore hide valid prompts from other directories on a reachable server. The prompts stay hidden until a new permission.asked or form.created event arrives, or until syncForSession runs. The remote session can then wait for input that the UI does not show.
Prune only the sessions that map to the failed directory key. Sessions with no known directory are already handled through getSession in reconcilePendingActionsForServer.

… and gone sessions
Problem
A pending question (form) from a connected remote server could stay stuck in the badge and notifications sheet. Clicking it opened a session that never loaded: either "Session not found" or a spinner that never stopped.
The cause was client-side pending state that nothing ever cleared, combined with pinning that kept selecting the dead item.
Changes
session.deletedand a 404 on the session page now clear that session's pending forms and permissions (forgetPendingActionsForSession).Validation
