comark-content 0.5 (comarkdown/comark-content#132) removes comark-content/sources/github. This PR moves the layer to comark-content/sources/forge with forges' GitHub provider.

  • Content source (server/utils/content.ts) and code-explorer both use forge({ provider: githubProvider(), repo, ref, path }). The new githubProvider() in server/utils/github.ts passes githubToken() when one is set.
  • ttl is dropped. It cached the old driver's responses in memory; the forge source has no equivalent. Reads happen at an immutable SHA (withRef), and the parsed bodies live in the per-SHA Runtime Cache, so nothing re-reads more than before. On github.com, file bodies now come from raw.githubusercontent.com, so the only REST call per load is the tree listing.
  • Dependencies: adds forges. comark-content and forges point at pkg.pr.new until their releases: comark-content#130 for sources/forge, and feat: add metadata: false to read file contents cheaply danielroe/forges#232 for metadata: false. Not to be merged before forges 0.3.0 and comark-content 0.5 are released: then both move to those versions, and the temporary blockExoticSubdeps: false in test/fixtures/consumer/pnpm-workspace.yaml (needed by the pack check while the pins are pkg.pr.new URLs) is removed.

Unit tests (210) and typecheck pass; lint shows the same 4 warnings as main.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Updates
    • Documentation content and code examples are retrieved through an updated GitHub integration, using the configured repository, branch, and directory.
    • GitHub access supports token authentication when a token is configured; access without a configured token remains available.
    • Content retrieval continues to follow the selected target branch, and code examples retain their existing development behavior.

comark-content 0.5 removes `comark-content/sources/github`. The content and code-explorer sources now use `comark-content/sources/forge` with the forges GitHub provider, authenticated with `githubToken()` when one is set. `forges` is a new dependency; comark-content and forges come from pkg.pr.new until their releases.

🪧 More tips
  • Run npx skills add coldteadotai/pr-lens, then tell your coding agent: "Diagram the change you just made with PR Lens and attach it to the pull request."
  • Run npx @coldtea/pr-lens-cli analyze --base origin/main on a branch, then npx @coldtea/pr-lens-cli render .pr-lens/graph.json. Same lenses, your own model key, before the pull request exists
  • Click the link under each diagram to open it on a canvas you can zoom, pan and step through
  • The diagrams are links. Click one to open it on the canvas, then press W or click play to walk through the change
  • Open a diagram on the canvas, then press W or click play to walk through the change one step at a time
  • The CLI's render reads .github/pr-lens.yml and applies your renames, exclusions and lane pins at draw time
  • Set github.comment.collapsed: true in .github/pr-lens.yml to fold the comment behind one View architecture and data flow row. Drawing still runs as before
  • Add .github/workflows/pr-lens.yml with coldteadotai/pr-lens/packages/action@v0 and your model provider's key as its api-key to run PR Lens from your own CI. Any /chat/completions endpoint works

📝 Walkthrough

The code-explorer and content sources now use forge with a GitHub provider. Dependency versions and the consumer fixture configuration also change. The content contract test checks the forgeSource import and export.

  • I pinned comark-content to pkg.pr.new/comark-content@71b7837 (pinning the latest instead of the PR that breaks the lockfile)

  • I upgraded comark and @comark/nuxt to ^0.8.1 in your PR since comark-content already moved to comark 0.8 (two copies of comark was broken in a separated PR)

  • pack still fails with ERR_PNPM_EXOTIC_SUBDEP, because the layer depends on pkg.pr.new builds of comark-content and forges. You can unblock the CI by adding blockExoticSubdeps: false and remove it once comark-content is released

The packed layer depends on pkg.pr.new builds of comark-content and forges, which pnpm rejects as exotic subdependencies in the consumer install. Remove once comark-content 0.5 and forges 0.3.0 are out.

Thanks @larbish! I added blockExoticSubdeps: false in 47db842. The error comes from the consumer install in scripts/test-pack.sh, so the setting is in test/fixtures/consumer/pnpm-workspace.yaml, the config that the fresh app copies; the layer's own workspace config doesn't reach that install. ./scripts/test-pack.sh now passes locally: the packed layer installs and the consumer app builds.

We don't plan to merge this until forges 0.3.0 (with danielroe/forges#232) and comark-content 0.5 (comarkdown/comark-content#130 and #132) are released. Then the pkg.pr.new pins move to those releases and blockExoticSubdeps goes away.
