Summary

Batch 4 of the v0.8.0 work. Each item was built on its own branch, verified with tests seen failing on the base, and merged here with --no-ff. The branch is up to date with main (batch 3 included).

Closes #412. Refs #402, #370, #67.

Local gates (this tip)

  • pre-commit run --all-files: pass
  • docs vs code: 0 problems; make contracts-check: in sync
  • targeted offline pytest (import, search, similar, label ops, naming): 1496 passed, 9 skipped
  • frontend npm run check, vitest and build: pass; stubbed axe a11y e2e: 20 passed
  • the full offline suite runs in CI

Design doc only (owner decision 2026-10-31); implementation follows #220. Closed branch vocabulary with per-route defaults, fail-closed validation, BLS over ensembles for C1 with the measurements to confirm it, interaction with the ingest load profile, selective embedding and #220, wire and contract changes, per-branch metrics, skip-proof tests and phases P0 to P6.

…nt settings

The assist-run dialog and the auto-label loop panel enabled Start while a
re-plan was still debouncing, so a click could start a run whose counts
were never shown, and on a slow runner the button turned disabled under
the click. The AssistButton test now drives the debounce with fake timers.
