Summary

Text-only rename of user-visible "Devsy Pro" to "Devsy Platform" in the files listed below. config.ProductNamePro is renamed to config.ProductNamePlatform (value ProductName + " Platform"). 14 files, 62 insertions and 62 deletions, no test files.

Why

Continues the Loft/Pro to Devsy/Platform rename. This slice covers pkg/config, pkg/platform, pkg/devcontainer/buildkit, and the cmd/pro files at the top level of that directory.

Tier

T2: text only. No logic, flag, command, or identifier changes beyond the constant rename.

Validation

  • mise run cli:format: clean apart from the intended files.
  • go build ./...: pass.
  • GOOS=windows go vet ./pkg/config/... ./pkg/platform/... ./cmd/pro/...: pass.
  • mise run cli:lint:ci: 0 issues.
  • go test ./pkg/config/... ./pkg/platform/... ./cmd/pro/... ./pkg/devcontainer/buildkit/...: 7 packages ok, 19 without tests.

CodeRabbit CLI

Not completed: coderabbit review --agent --committed was rate-limited (free quota). GitHub CodeRabbit review completed on the head SHA with no findings.

Auto-merge

Eligible under the rename policy (T2 text only, no old/new contract to bridge; 14 files <= 25, 124 changed lines <= 300). No tests removed or weakened.

Intentionally unchanged

  • Command strings: devsy pro ..., BinaryName+" pro login", Use: "pro".
  • Image names (devsy-pro), provider names, import paths.
  • config.PlatformReleaseName value (RepoName + "-pro", Helm release). Only its comment changed.
  • YAML description: Devsy Pro fallback provider in cmd/pro/login.go:503.

Remaining (next slice)

  • cmd/pro/ subpackages: 15 lines with "Devsy Pro" across this directory, including login.go:503.
  • cmd/workspace/ping.go:26, troubleshoot.go:194, up/up_flags.go:202.
  • hack/pro/provider.yaml, providers/pro/provider.yaml, CONTRIBUTING.md:264, .agents/skills/devsy/references/cli.md:52, and docs under sites/.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • User Experience
    • Updated user-facing command descriptions, help text, logs, prompts, status messages, and error messages to consistently use “Devsy Platform” branding.
    • Updated login, startup, deployment, Docker, uninstall, and remote-build messaging accordingly.
  • Documentation
    • Updated configuration comments and product references to reflect the Devsy Platform name.

📝 Walkthrough

The change replaces “Devsy Pro” with “Devsy Platform” in shared product naming, platform messages, CLI descriptions, logs, errors, installation output, and comments. Runtime control flow and constant values other than the product label remain unchanged.

Changes: Devsy Platform branding

Layer / File(s) Summary
Shared product label and platform messages
pkg/config/product.go, pkg/platform/..., pkg/devcontainer/..., pkg/config/env.go, pkg/config/repo.go
The exported ProductNamePro constant is renamed to ProductNamePlatform. Platform client, deployment, build, environment, and repository text now uses Devsy Platform terminology.
CLI command and lifecycle messages
cmd/pro/...
CLI descriptions, flags, errors, logs, installation output, Docker output, and uninstall output now use Devsy Platform terminology.

Priority: ⬇️ Low

Estimated code review effort: 1 (Trivial) | ~5 minutes

Change: Refactor

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to 4b5bb

A narrow branding inconsistency remains in provider output and should be corrected before merge.

Security architecture risk: ⚪ Minimal · up to 4b5bb

The change updates product branding and an exported constant name. The reviewed comparison does not change authentication, permissions, deployment identifiers, or lifecycle behavior. No introduced or worsened security risk was identified.

Retained concerns
No architecture-level concerns identified.

Explanation

The description explains the rename, scope, rationale, validation, and remaining work. It does not follow the repository template and omits the issue reference, change-type selection, AI-assistance declaration, required checklist confirmations, and explicit test-coverage justification.

Resolution

Update the description to use the repository template. Add the What and why issue reference, select the applicable change type, complete the AI assistance section, document why integration tests are not needed or list the relevant tests, and complete the checklist items for linting, tests, docs, secrets, and CLA status. Keep the existing validation details and scope notes.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Update the fallback provider description.

A legacy login with --version v0.0.0 can install fallbackProvider with description: Devsy Pro. devsy provider list then exposes that value in user-facing output. Change it to Devsy Platform to complete the branding update in cmd/pro/login.go.
