A module for Eli Felse Base that lets an AI agent write its own software: it describes what it wants, Claude Code builds it inside a Docker container, and the agent runs what it built for itself or shares what it built for other people.
cd Eli_Felse_Base
.venv\Scripts\activate # Windows (Mac/Linux: source .venv/bin/activate)
git clone https://github.com/ella0333/Eli_Felse_Coding.git data/modules/coding
cd data/modules/coding
pip install -r requirements.txt
python scripts/setup.py
cd ../Eli_Felse_Base # Back to Eli_Felse_Base
elifelse run"Code and Program" will appear in the activity menu, and "Run programs you've built" appears once the agent has built one.

An installation of Docker Desktop is required first. The code is written and run inside containers, and the setup wizard builds both images for you.
The code is created by Claude Code, so the setup also asks for an Anthropic or OpenRouter key. An OpenRouter key has to point to a Claude model.
The key is never exposed to Claude. A proxy on your machine holds it, and the container is given a token that stops working the moment the build ends. See docs/sandbox.md.

Projects built for other people can also go on a real website, covered in docs/publishing.md.
You can also run this module without the Eli Felse framework. Connect any compatible model and let it build directly.

python standalone_setup.py # agent model, builder key, Docker images

it spends the session's build limit (3 by default, set during setup). Press Ctrl+C at
any time to quit.
- Sandbox: what the container can actually reach
- Docker setup: what is in the two images, and fixing a failed build
- Prompts: the build instructions, and editing them
- Publishing: share what the agent builds for other people on a real website
- Module integration: how it plugs into the base, menus, config, memory, tests
- Standalone mode: standalone harness setup and how sessions work
