VTEX doesn't load apps on Legacy CMS Portal storefronts, so those stores can't use the Hellotext VTEX app. They paste the @hellotext/vtex-legacy-cms snippet into their CMS templates instead. The setup wizard now detects which storefront a store runs on and shows the matching installation (hellotext/hellotext#6585). This updates Connect VTEX in English and Spanish to match.

  • Checkout Funnel Tracking moves before Pixel Installation, matching the wizard's new order. Its text and checkout anchor are unchanged.
  • Pixel Installation explains that the wizard detects Store Framework vs Legacy CMS and shows the matching installation, with a link to switch.
  • New Legacy CMS installation section, with a legacy-cms anchor that the wizard links to. It covers the CMS template steps, the snippet (in <head> or right before </body>), what it tracks, not to paste it into checkout, and a source link like the checkout section's.
  • Automatic Push installation notes that it only applies to the Store Framework app.

Originals, the article plan, and the build checks are in docs/editorial-work/connect-vtex.md, and progress.csv marks the article in_progress. No screenshots were added: there's no Legacy CMS admin to capture, and the new wizard step isn't deployed yet. Both are recorded as pending captures.

The production build and security-header check pass locally, using Ruby 3.3.12 because 3.3.6 isn't installed. The browser check is pending on the deploy preview.

Before merging:

  • Merge hellotext/hellotext#6585 first, so the guide doesn't describe a wizard that isn't live yet.
  • hellotext/vtex-legacy-cms is internal on GitHub, so the new source link will 404 for merchants until that repo is made public.

The setup wizard now detects whether a VTEX storefront runs on Store
Framework or Legacy CMS, and shows the Hellotext app or a template
snippet accordingly. The guide adds a Legacy CMS installation section,
moves checkout before the pixel step to match the wizard's order, and
notes that automatic Push only applies to the Store Framework app.
