Reject non-integer numeric strings for quantity when validation is enabled.
remove() accepts every is_numeric() string. The method then stores that string unchanged. Values such as "1.5" and "1e3" therefore pass validation, although the quantity contract requires a whole number. Add an integer-string check after extraction. Route the error through maybeThrowInvalidInputException() so validation-disabled requests preserve their current behavior.

Move the event time check from withEvent into a private helper so other inputs can use the same check. Behavior does not change. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The check used DateTime::createFromFormat(), which caused three problems: * RFC3339_EXTENDED parses at most three fractional second digits, so the check rejected valid values such as 2026-10-01T14:30:00.123456Z. * createFromFormat() rolls over out-of-range values, such as February 30 or hour 25, and reports them only as warnings, so the check accepted them. * createFromFormat() accepts forms that are not RFC 3339, such as time zone names, offsets without a colon, and a lowercase "z". The check now matches the pattern that the web service uses, which also checks the hour, minute, and second ranges. checkdate() rejects dates that do not exist. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
With input validation disabled, remove() let a value of the wrong type through. A later check then failed with a type error, a conversion warning, or an error, or the value went to the web service, depending on the field. The validateInput guards on the address fields fixed this for a few fields by sending these values unchanged. remove() now always throws InvalidInputException for a value of the wrong type. The named arguments already have type declarations. validateInput now controls only the value checks, so a value with the right type that fails a check is still sent unchanged. Every check can rely on the type, so the guards are no longer needed. The web service accepts more types than remove() did, and callers often have these values from a database. The number fields now also accept a numeric string without surrounding whitespace, which the web service does not trim. It is sent unchanged, except session_age, which is still converted. A quantity string must be a whole number when validation is on. The new removeString() accepts an integer in a free-form string field and sends it as a string, as session_id and item_id already did. The documentation still describes these fields as strings. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
withBilling() and withShipping() repeated the same array handling, validation, and array building for the eleven address fields. Move it into one private helper. withShipping() keeps only the delivery_speed handling, and checks the delivery_speed value after the helper, so type errors and unknown keys are still reported first. The public signatures and the data sent do not change. If a request has more than one error, the error that is reported first can differ. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Add the phone_verification_method, phone_was_verification_successful, and phone_verification_time inputs to both the /billing and /shipping objects. They describe the most recent verification of the billing or shipping phone number. Add them to withBilling() and withShipping() as array keys and as named arguments. The new arguments go after the existing ones, so positional calls keep working. The client always checks the value types. With input validation on, it also checks the method value and the RFC 3339 time format. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The format checks for country, region, and phone country codes, the currency code, the credit card fields, the MD5 values, and the ReportTransaction minFraud ID anchored their patterns with $. In PHP, $ also matches before a trailing newline, so validation accepted values such as "US\n", which the web service rejects. Anchor these patterns with \A and \z. Medium: session_age with surrounding whitespace now always throws.
In 3.7.0, withDevice(['session_age' => "3600\n"]) and ' 3600' pass, because is_numeric() accepts surrounding whitespace. The value is sent as 3600.0. With this PR, the numeric string type also requires trim($value) === $value, so these values throw Expected session_age to be in [double, integer, numeric string] but was string. They throw also with validateInput => false, because remove() now always throws.
The CHANGELOG says only that a session_age string "that is not numeric" is now rejected. PHP thinks these strings are numeric, so an integration that works now breaks in a minor release with no note. Either keep the 3.7.0 behavior for session_age (it is converted with (float), so the whitespace is never sent) or document the change.

Medium: the custom input key check still accepts a trailing newline.
The real target is src/MinFraud.php:1215, which is outside the diff: preg_match('/^[a-z0-9_]{1,25}\Z/', $key). \Z matches before a final newline, so withCustomInputs(["abc\n" => 'x']) passes validation and sends the key "abc\n". The web service requires \A[a-z0-9_]{1,25}\z, so it rejects the key.
This is the same class of bug that "Reject a trailing newline in fixed-format inputs" fixes. It is the last \Z or $ anchor in src/MinFraud*.php. Use \A...\z here too.

Medium (question): remove() now throws for values the web service accepts, also with validateInput => false.
With validation off, withShoppingCartItem(['quantity' => 2.0]) and withAccount(['user_id' => 12.0]) work on main: the value is sent, and the web service accepts a JSON number with no fraction for these fields. With this PR, both throw InvalidInputException in 3.8.0.
The CHANGELOG states the general change, but users turn validation off to avoid client-side rejections. Is it intended that a 3.x minor release breaks values that the server accepts? If yes, list this case in the CHANGELOG. If no, keep the type check behind maybeThrowInvalidInputException() for values that JSON can encode.

Low: trim() does not remove \f, but is_numeric() accepts it.
trim() strips " \n\r\t\v\0", but not form feed. is_numeric("\f12.50") is true. So with validation on, withOrder(['amount' => "\f12.50"]) and withShoppingCartItem(['price' => "1.5\f"]) pass this check and are sent unchanged. The web service parses the value with strconv.ParseFloat, which fails, so it drops the field with a warning.
A strict pattern, for example preg_match('/\A-?\d+(\.\d+)?\z/', $value) or a pattern for the exact number format that the server accepts, gives the "no surrounding whitespace" rule without the gap.

Low: other fixed-format checks still accept a newline.
The real target is src/MinFraud/ReportTransaction.php:140, \strlen($maxmindId) !== 8. The CHANGELOG says fields with a fixed format now reject a trailing newline. But report(['tag' => 'not_fraud', 'maxmind_id' => "abcdefg\n"]) has length 8 and passes. The same applies to avs_result and cvv_result (src/MinFraud.php:1101 and :1129, \strlen(...) !== 1): "\n" passes. The web service rejects these values.
Use a pattern check, for example /\A[a-zA-Z0-9]{8}\z/ for maxmind_id, or make the CHANGELOG entry narrower.

Low: an error for the deprecated last_4_digits key names last_digits.
Util::cleanCreditCard() renames last_4_digits to last_digits before the type check. Now that remove() always throws, withCreditCard(['last_4_digits' => 1234]) with validateInput => false throws Expected last_digits to be in [string] but was integer. The caller did not pass last_digits, so the message points to the wrong key.

Suggestion: use a removeNumber() helper instead of a numeric string pseudo-type.
gettype() never returns numeric string, but the error message lists it as a type. Every remove() call now also searches $types for it. The whitespace rule is in shared code, where the \f gap (see the comment on line 97) is easy to miss. A removeNumber() helper, like the new removeString(), keeps remove() a pure type check and puts the number rules in one place.

Suggestion: the $fields parameter and ksort() exist only to sort delivery_speed.
The web service does not use JSON key order. withShipping() can set $shipping['delivery_speed'] after it calls addressValues(). Then addressValues() does not need the $fields parameter, the ksort(), or the comment about unknown keys first.

The web service requires custom input keys to match
\A[a-z0-9_]{1,25}\z. The old check used \Z, so it accepted a key
such as "abc\n".

This removes the $fields parameter and the ksort() from addressValues(). The web service does not use the JSON key order. Adds three optional inputs to
withBilling()andwithShipping(), as array keys or named arguments:phone_verification_method(delivered_code,network,other),phone_was_verification_successful(boolean), andphone_verification_time(RFC 3339 date-time). They describe the most recent verification of the billing or shipping phone number. The client always checks their types. With input validation on, it also checks the method value and the time format. The new named arguments go after all existing arguments, so existing positional calls keep working. The earlier commits prepare and fix shared code:
2026-10-01T14:30:00.123456Z. Before, it rejected more than three. It now rejects out-of-range values that PHP rolls over, such as February 30, and forms that are not RFC 3339, such as time zone names, offsets without a colon, and a lowercasetorz.TypeError, a warning, or anError, or went to the web service, depending on the field. Nowremove()throwsInvalidInputException, andvalidateInputcontrols only the value checks. A value with the right type that fails a check is still sent unchanged. Every check can rely on the type, so thevalidateInputguards thatmainadded to the address fields are removed. Custom inputs keep their current behavior.amount,price,quantityandsession_ageaccept a numeric string. It is sent unchanged, exceptsession_age, which is still converted. With validation on, aquantitystring must be a whole number. A free-form string field, with no other check, accepts an integer and sends it as a string, assession_idanditem_idalready did. The user documentation still describes these fields as strings.ip_address, or1forwas_authorized.withBilling()andwithShipping()repeated into one private helper, so the new inputs are added once.withShipping()keeps onlydelivery_speed, and checks its value after the helper, so type errors and unknown keys are still reported first.
