Adds Breadcrumb to the web collection (panelui-web): the component, its docs page, registry item, demos, and generated agent-skill reference.
Why
The web collection's Navigation section had only Tabs. A breadcrumb is the canonical "showing where you are" component, and the native package already ships a mature implementation. This ports that behaviour to the web — including folding the middle of a long trail — and adapts it to the collection's web idioms.
The docs dev server was also run briefly: /docs/web/components/breadcrumb returned 200, and the SSR output contained aria-label="Breadcrumb", aria-current="page", the separator slots, and the interactive ellipsis label.
Web (docs app)
iOS
Android
Light and dark themes — both captured in the screenshots below.
Screenshots or recording
Captured from the running docs page at 2× — light, dark, the folded trail, and the hidden-steps menu opened from the ellipsis.
Animations use Reanimated on the UI thread — N/A for the web collection; motion is CSS-based and respects prefers-reduced-motion
No hardcoded colours — everything resolves through the theme tokens
Interactive parts carry the web equivalents: nav landmark, aria-current="page", aria-hidden separators, aria-haspopup on the pressable ellipsis
Every new part accepts className
If this touches a component's API
web-meta.json and web-usage/breadcrumb.json are updated, with addedIn set to 0.15.0
build-web-registry, gen-web, build-web-skill, and build-skill-assets have been run and the generated files are committed
Props tables read correctly — they come from the TypeScript interfaces and their JSDoc
If this adds a component
Exported from packages/web/src/index.ts, with its types and named twins for every dotted part
Registry item, docs page, sidebar entry, demo map, and agent-skill reference generated and committed
Notes for the reviewer
Collapse props live on the root. The native implementation places them on Breadcrumb.List; here they are root props (maxItems, itemsBeforeCollapse, itemsAfterCollapse, onEllipsisClick) so configuration sits in one place. Folding behaviour is unchanged: keep first and last, and never fold when it would hide only one crumb.
Ellipsis interaction:Breadcrumb.Ellipsis is a static marker by default and becomes a real <button aria-haspopup="menu"> when onEllipsisClick is supplied.
The with-menu demo uses a controlled Menu anchored to the ellipsis rather than Menu.Trigger. It was opened in headless Chromium against the docs page and is captured above; the menu lists the folded crumbs, as intended.
Version:addedIn is 0.15.0 while panelui-web is still 0.14.0, so the docs page carries the "new" badge until the release lands. No version bump in this PR, per CONTRIBUTING.
Adds a compound Breadcrumb component with configurable separators, optional collapsing, and a clickable ellipsis option. Exports its parts and types, registers the component, and adds documentation and interactive demos.

Summary
Collapse logic and component packages/web/src/components/breadcrumb/*, packages/web/src/index.ts, packages/web/test/breadcrumb-collapse.test.mjs
Adds the collapse helper and compound component. The component inserts separators, renders retained items or an ellipsis, and exposes its public parts and types. Tests cover collapse behavior and edge cases.
Registry and discovery apps/docs/public/r/web/*, apps/docs/scripts/web-meta.json, apps/docs/scripts/web-usage/breadcrumb.json, apps/docs/content/docs/web/components/meta.json, apps/docs/content/docs/web/components/index.mdx, apps/docs/public/skills/panelui-web/components.md, skills/panelui-web/components.md
Adds Breadcrumb registry and metadata entries. Lists the component in documentation navigation and updates the component count.
Documentation and demos apps/docs/content/docs/web/components/breadcrumb.mdx, apps/docs/public/skills/panelui-web/components/breadcrumb.md, skills/panelui-web/components/breadcrumb.md, apps/docs/components/web-demos/breadcrumb/*
Adds usage, API, accessibility, and collapse documentation. Adds demos for standard trails, custom separators, collapsed trails, long labels, and menus.
The new Breadcrumb component has small accessibility and markup issues in folded trails and in how fragments are counted. Fix these before merge. Existing components are unaffected.

Explanation
The title "feat(web): add Breadcrumb" names the main change. The PR adds the Breadcrumb component to the web collection, with its registry item, docs page, demos, and collapse helper. The title is short, specific, and uses the conventional commit form. It does not cover collapse behavior, but that detail is expected to be omitted.

Expand fragments in BreadcrumbList so each item counts as one crumb.
Children.toArray does not flatten a <Fragment>. A fragment that wraps several Breadcrumb.Item children stays one crumb. The list then renders it as one slot. The output has no separator between the items inside the fragment. maxItems and the collapse slots also count the fragment as a single crumb.
Flatten fragments before the crumbs are counted:

A Breadcrumb.Separator passed directly to Breadcrumb.List has a related problem. It is counted as a crumb, and the list adds its own separator on each side. The docs do not clearly say whether that placement is supported. Decide the intended contract first. If the placement is not supported, document it as unsupported. If it is supported, the list needs to exclude separator children from the crumb count and use them as the gap glyph.

Wrap the ellipsis in an <li> inside BreadcrumbList.
BreadcrumbList places BreadcrumbEllipsis directly inside <ol>. The ellipsis renders a bare <span> or <button>, not an <li>. Separators and items both render <li>, so the ellipsis is the only direct child of <ol> that is not a list item. A folded trail can therefore produce invalid list markup. Assistive technology can then report the wrong item count or lose list semantics.

The ellipsis button sets aria-haspopup="menu" but never sets aria-expanded. Assistive technology cannot tell whether the menu is open. Other triggers in this package set aria-expanded for the same purpose, for example packages/web/src/components/command-dock/index.tsx:282.
On the collapse path the caller cannot add this state. BreadcrumbList renders the ellipsis with only onClick. The root's ...props go to the <nav>, so onEllipsisClick is the only hook.
Add a way for the caller to report the open state. For example, accept an open prop on Breadcrumb, pass it through the context, and set aria-expanded on the pressable button. Update the onEllipsisClick example in apps/docs/content/docs/web/components/breadcrumb.mdx to pass that state.
