Schedule selection now reflects a matching location, including when the schedule is inactive, so the selected schedule is displayed consistently.
Anna thermostat status now reports automatic climate mode and “Thermostat schedule” instead of heating mode and no selected schedule. Its displayed status now aligns with the reported mode and schedule.

Walkthrough
The schedule helper now selects a schedule when its rule location matches, regardless of whether the rule is active. The Anna fixtures report automatic climate mode and the selected thermostat schedule. The changelog and project version were updated for release 1.14.8.
Changes: Schedule selection
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Select schedules by location plugwise/helper.py, fixtures/anna_p1/data.json, tests/data/anna/anna_p1.json, CHANGELOG.md, pyproject.toml
The helper no longer includes rule active values in its lookup data. It selects a schedule for a matching location without checking whether the rule is active. Both Anna fixtures now report climate_mode as auto and select_schedule as Thermostat schedule. The changelog and project version identify release 1.14.8.
Issue 933: The change updates the reported selected schedule for a matching location when the rule is inactive. It does not change the write path that the issue identifies as causing the activation request to omit <active>, so the change does not establish a complete fix.

The title identifies the related issue, but it does not describe the schedule-selection and climate-mode fix. A teammate cannot determine the primary change from the title alone.

Tested this on a real Anna (Smile Anna gateway 4.4.4, AME Smile 2.0 board) with HA 2026.10.2 / python-plugwise 1.14.7, applying only the _schedules() change from this branch on top of 1.14.7. The write path was left as it is.
The state from #933 (rule active=false, location still linked)
After: the select shows the schedule name and the climate entity is auto.
That matches what the device does in this state. Cross-check on the Smile: with the location still linked and active=false, the thermostat setpoint followed the schedule value (18 °C, the away point at that time) instead of the manual preset HA reports for it (asleep = 17 °C). Earlier this morning the same schedule was switched off in a way that emptied its contexts, and then the setpoint went to 17 °C. So active is not what decides this on an Anna, the location link is, and this PR reads it that way.
Round trip through HA
Schedule off -> on, then heat -> auto: the calls all succeed and the select and the climate entity follow on the next poll. The request bodies are unchanged, they still carry no <active> element, as in your capture.
Other states
Empty contexts: still off, unchanged from 1.14.7. Correct, the schedule is not running there.
active=true with the location linked: unchanged, still the schedule name.
Tests pytest --log-level info tests/*.py on this branch: 39 passed. (Had to install pytest-aiohttp locally, it is not in requirements_test.txt; that is unrelated to this PR.)
Small remainder _rule_ids_by_tag() still parses active into the dict, but after this change only the _presets() path uses it. Not a problem, just dead data in _schedules()' input.
This fixes #933 on an Anna without touching set_schedule_state().
