Models scheduled for removal will include a `removal` field with an ISO 8601 date (for example, `"removal": "2025-11-17T00:00:00.000Z"`). When a model is removed, API requests will fail with error code `MODEL_NOT_FOUND` and the models endpoint will stop returning that particular model.

Models scheduled for removal are marked with ⚠ and their removal date in the *Status* column of the xref:tinymceai-models.adoc#supported-models-table[Supported Models] table.

[IMPORTANT]
====
After the removal date, features that name a removed model stop working. The result depends on where the model is set:

* The `model` option of xref:tinymceai-actions.adoc#custom-actions[custom Quick Actions] or xref:tinymceai.adoc#integrator-defined-reviews[integrator-defined reviews], or the `model` field of API requests: the model ID is sent unchanged, and every request fails with error code `MODEL_NOT_FOUND`.
* xref:tinymceai.adoc#tinymceai_default_model[`+tinymceai_default_model+`]: the removed model is no longer in the list of available models, so {pluginname} uses the first available model instead and logs a warning to the browser console.

Built-in Quick Actions and built-in reviews do not set a model and are not affected.
====

Before the removal date, switch each of these settings to another model from the xref:tinymceai-models.adoc#supported-models-table[Supported Models] table, or to `'auto'`.

To check for deprecated models programmatically, read the model list from `GET /v1/models/\{version}`. Each model scheduled for removal includes its `removal` date, and the same list can be used to choose a replacement model. See xref:tinymceai-models.adoc#model-information[Model Information] for an example request.
