Description

Part of #616. Decisions: see the owner comments there.

Desired behavior

Users can discover, install, list, check, update, and remove lint rule packages from the command line.

Scope

wright lint package <search|install|list|outdated|update|remove>:

  • search: GitHub Search API, topic:wrightkit-lint archived:false fork:false, paged; install by explicit repository URL works without the Topic.
  • install: fetch into the store only; it does not activate the package in any project.
  • list: source repository, path identity, and installed SHA for each stored package.
  • outdated: reports unchanged, updated, unavailable, and error per package; applies nothing.
  • update: applies one package or all; managed content that was edited locally is not replaced.
  • remove: removes managed content only and preserves user-authored rules and unrelated files.
  • Results follow the shared result model and renderers (ADR-0030).

Non-goals

Activating a package in a project, background or automatic updates, a hosted registry.

Acceptance criteria

  • Each subcommand has a test against recorded responses covering success, unchanged, updated, unavailable, and error states.
  • outdated never changes the store; update of one package leaves the others untouched.
  • remove and update preserve a user-owned file in the same directory and refuse to replace a locally edited managed file.
  • docs/cli/commands.md documents the subcommands.

Dependencies

The package store and fetch sub-issue.
