The data tables (Opportunities, approval queue, purchase history, planned purchases, Inventory, coverage, RI exchange and API keys) share one compact style. Rows are about 37px tall. Short values stay on one line, and long names and IDs are cut with "…", with the full text in a tooltip. Every table uses one header style, with the filter icon on the same line as the label. The actions column stays pinned on the right and the Opportunities checkbox column on the left, so Approve, Cancel and Run now are never clipped. Payment, term, provider and money values are spelled the same way in every table. The RI exchange stale-data notices become warning callouts, and the per-row Opportunities "Plan" button becomes a small icon.

Part of the UI modernization sweep.

What changed

  • frontend/src/styles/tables.css: a new .table-compact rule set covers 8px cell padding, one-line short values, .cell-truncate ellipsis cells and one header style (small, semibold, muted, written case, chevron and funnel inline in a .th-inner row). Only the active sort column shows its chevron. .table-sticky-start and .table-sticky-end pin the checkbox and actions columns. They get an opaque background that follows hover, selected and highlighted rows, plus a divider shadow (built from colour tokens) that shows only while columns are hidden behind them. The file also adds compact icon buttons, the RI notice callouts and the savings-stripe legend. At 640px and below, the approval queue and purchase history leave their actions cell unpinned (see Notes for review).
  • frontend/src/lib/table-format.ts (new) with frontend/src/__tests__/table-format.test.ts: formatPaymentOption ("All Upfront", "Partial Upfront", "No Upfront", "Monthly" from slugs, underscores or AWS text), formatTermShort / formatIsoTermShort ("1 yr", "3 yr", Azure "P3Y" included) and formatDecimalStringCurrency ("$184.22" instead of "$184.220000").
  • frontend/src/recommendations.ts: compact and sticky-start classes, account and resource type cut at 11rem, service badges at 9rem. The per-row "Plan" text button becomes a ghost icon button next to the checkbox (same aria-label, title and tab order). A legend explains the green and amber row stripes (over $1,000/mo and over $100/mo savings).
  • frontend/src/history.ts: the approval queue and purchase history are compact, with a pinned actions column. Approve and Cancel are icon buttons with aria-labels; Cancel uses a subtle danger style. Payment and term go through the shared formatters, and the header funnels lose their boxed button look.
  • frontend/src/plans.ts: the planned purchases table has a pinned actions column. Pause, Resume, Edit and Disable are 28px icon buttons next to a Run now button of the same height. Term and Payment become two columns with one filter each, the region moves under the resource type, and plan names are cut at 9rem.
  • frontend/src/inventory.ts: Title Case headers, provider badges, the shared payment and term spellings, and narrower service and resource type columns, so the table fits at 1440px.
  • frontend/src/riexchange.ts: the stale-data and "left out" notices become callouts with an alert icon. The "!" prefix and the ".:" are gone. The reshape headers name their two funnels (count / instance, used / purchased), source RI IDs are cut at 7rem, and history payments are shown as currency.
  • frontend/src/apikeys.ts: a compact table with a pinned actions column; request counts are right-aligned.
  • frontend/src/icons.ts: adds the clipboard-check icon (the sidebar's Plans icon), used by the Opportunities plan button.
  • frontend/src/lib/table-scroll.ts, frontend/src/recommendations.ts, frontend/src/lib/history-filter-popover.ts: a header filter popover no longer closes on a scroll while its button is still on screen. It follows the button and closes once the button has scrolled out of view. A new anchorInView() checks that the button is inside the viewport and every clipping ancestor. Tests for this are in table-scroll.test.ts and recommendations.test.ts.
  • frontend/src/lib/history-filter-popover.ts (review follow-up, commits f7bc0768 and 3f66a30e): committing a purchase history / approval queue filter re-renders the table, and that replaces the filter button while the popover stays open. The new button used to come back with aria-expanded="false". Now renderHistoryFilterButton marks the open column's button as expanded, and after each commit the popover re-anchors to the new button. The Opportunities popover already did this, and a new test pins it. The tests are in history-filter-popover-scope.test.ts, recommendations.test.ts and table-scroll.test.ts, which adds a case for the vertical clip.
  • Tests: css.test.ts, table-css-hygiene.spec.ts, inventory.test.ts, history-approval-queue.test.ts, recommendations.test.ts, xss-purchase-payment.test.ts and icons.test.ts follow the new header case, labels and icon list (see Notes for review).

Why

In the audit at 1440px, tables wrapped dates and payment slugs over three lines, so rows were 60-100px tall. Row actions in the approval queue and planned purchases were cut off at the card edge. Headers mixed uppercase and Title Case depending on whether the column could be sorted. The same value was spelled "all-upfront", "All Upfront" and "all upfront" in different tables, and the term as "1y", "1yr" and "1 Year". These four changes (compact tables, pinned columns, one spelling, notices and plan button) depend on each other: the pinned columns rely on the one-line cells, and the shared formatters rely on the new column widths. That is why they ship as one PR. Inventory and RI reshape now fit at 1440px without sideways scrolling.

RI exchange: "!" notices ending in ".:", stacked double funnels, "$184.220000". Warning callouts, labelled funnels (count / instance), truncated RI IDs, "$184.22".

Verification

Run on this branch's head 3f66a30e, from frontend/:

  • npm run typecheck: passes. npm run lint: 0 errors (141 warnings, the same as main). npm run build: passes.
  • Jest: 176 suites, 4610 passed, 1 skipped (4611 total). This includes the tests added with the popover fix and the review follow-ups.
  • Playwright, full suite in the CI-pinned image mcr.microsoft.com/playwright:v1.64.1-noble (2 workers): 276 passed.
  • Probe spec (not committed, run on b0f7a91d): opened the Monthly Savings filter at 1000, 1100, 1180, 1220 and 1280px viewports, where the funnel starts at or past the scroller's clipped edge. The dialog opens every time, and it closes when the table is scrolled so the button leaves the scroller. Before the fix, the dialog never appeared at 1180-1280px.

Notes for review

  • These tests changed because they asserted the old look, not behaviour. Header case: css.test.ts and table-css-hygiene.spec.ts now expect text-transform: none, and inventory.test.ts expects Title Case header text. Labels: the approval queue, planned purchase and Opportunities term popover assertions expect "3 yr" / "No Upfront" instead of "3 Years" / "no-upfront". icons.test.ts lists the new clipboard-check icon.
  • Choices for the owner to judge:
    • Headers are in Title Case, not uppercase.
    • Terms are "1 yr" / "3 yr" in tables. Dialogs and plan cards keep "1 Year".
    • Only the active sort column shows a chevron. The others keep aria-sort and the hover state.
    • The Opportunities "Plan" button is an icon.
    • In the approval queue the pinned Actions column covers the end of Upfront Cost until you scroll sideways. The shadow shows that something is hidden.
  • Two earlier commits are also new compared with the reviewed sweep: ui: don't pin wide approval queue and history actions on phones and its follow-up. On a 390px phone, the approval queue's action cell ("Awaiting different approver" plus Cancel) and the history's Plan cell are wider than half the card. Pinned, they covered the rest of every row. In the sweep, ui(tables): purchases approval queue and history as cards on phones #1613 turned these two tables into cards on phones, so the problem never showed. On its own, this PR now lets those two cells scroll with the row on phones, as main does. With the cards PR on top, the cards take over.
  • Behaviour change in commit b0f7a91d (ui: keep a header filter popover open while its button stays in view), added after the first CI run. With the narrower columns, Monthly Savings sits at the clipped right edge of the Opportunities scroller at 1280px on the CI runner's fonts. Clicking its funnel scrolls the table to reveal the button, and the scroll strip under the table copies that scroll one frame later. Those scroll events reached the popover's "any scroll closes it" listener after the click had opened it, so the popover closed at once and recommendations.spec.ts never found the dialog. A user can hit the same race when clicking during momentum scrolling. Main passes this spec in CI, so the narrower columns are what exposed the race. Both header-filter popovers (Opportunities, and the purchase history / approval queue) now stay anchored to their button while it is on screen and close once it scrolls out of view. Scrolling the page or the table used to always close them. The Playwright Docker image doesn't reproduce it, because with its fonts the funnel stays in view. I reproduced the failure locally at 1180-1280px viewports with a probe spec (the dialog never appeared) and confirmed it passes after the fix. No existing test was weakened: the "scroll outside closes it" case still passes for a trigger that isn't on screen.
  • With all sixteen columns, Opportunities still scrolls sideways at 1440px. ui(opportunities): hide five secondary columns by default #1614 hides five secondary columns by default to fix that.

Data tables (Opportunities, approval queue, purchase history, planned
purchases, inventory, coverage, RI exchange, API keys) get a
.table-compact class: 8px rows, short values (money, counts, dates,
terms, payment, status) on one line, long names and ids truncated with
an ellipsis and a title tooltip, wrap only where text needs it (reasons,
failure details, alternatives).

Headers use one style everywhere: small, semibold, muted, in the case
they are written in (the uppercase transform only reached headers without
a sort button, so tables mixed both). Inventory headers move to Title
Case to match. Sort chevron and filter funnel sit inline to the right of
the label; the purchase history and approval queue funnels lose the boxed
default button look.

Duplicate funnels: Planned purchases Term/Payment become two columns with
one filter each; the RI reshape Current, Suggested and Normalized units
headers name their two funnels (count/instance, used/purchased).

Tests: the header-uppercase assertions (css.test.ts, table-css-hygiene
spec) and the inventory header-text assertions follow the new look.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Wide tables scroll sideways inside their card; the actions column of the
approval queue, purchase history, planned purchases, RI exchange tables
and API keys (.table-sticky-end) and the checkbox column of Opportunities
and the Azure reservations table (.table-sticky-start) now stick to the
edge with an opaque background that follows the row (hover, selected,
summary, deep-link highlight). A soft divider shadow shows only while
columns are hidden behind the sticky cell, and replaces the edge fade on
that side so the buttons are not dimmed. The planned purchases table
clips instead of hiding overflow, which had made it its own scroll
container.

Row actions are compact icon buttons with aria-label and title: approval
queue Approve (check) and Cancel (x, subtle danger), planned purchase
Pause / Resume / Edit / Disable as 28px squares beside a same-height
Run now. Long failure hints and status sublines wrap at a capped width so
the sticky column stays narrow. Header labels no longer wrap at all, so
every header is one line.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Follow-up to "keep table selection and action columns in view": the
divider gradient and the mask override used colour literals, which the
stylesheet colour ratchet (chart-theme.test.ts) counts. They now derive
from --cudly-text (color-mix for the 8% shadow; any opaque colour works
for the mask, which only reads alpha). Cherry-pick together with that
commit.

A shared lib/table-format.ts gives every table cell, and the column
filter labels that must match it, one spelling:

- payment: "All Upfront / Partial Upfront / No Upfront / Monthly" from
slugs, underscores or AWS's own text (approval queue and inventory
showed raw "all-upfront", planned purchases "no upfront"); the Title
Case matches the existing Opportunities cells and the purchase dialogs
- term: "1 yr / 3 yr" in every table ("1y", "1yr" and "1 Year" before;
Azure "P3Y" too). Dialogs and plan cards keep the long "1 Year".
- RI exchange history payment as currency: "$184.22", not AWS's
  "$184.220000"
- Inventory provider as the provider badge used elsewhere

Inventory's service and resource type wrap at a narrow width (rows are
already two lines for the account name and id), so the table fits at
1440px. Dates stay on one line through the compact table rule.

Tests: approval queue, planned purchase and Opportunities term-popover
assertions follow the new labels; table-format.test.ts covers the
formatters.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
RI exchange reshape notices (data staleness, RIs left out of the
analysis) render as callouts: alert icon, muted body, one line per
entry, a gap before the table. The "!" / "!!" prefix is gone, and the
server's sentence-style reason is inlined without its full stop and
leading capital, so "...extend the term.: <id>" reads "...extend the
term: <id>". Soft and hard staleness keep their warning / error classes.

Opportunities: the per-row "Plan" text button that stacked under each
checkbox is a compact ghost icon button (the sidebar's Plans clipboard
icon, added to icons.ts) beside the checkbox, keeping its aria-label,
title and tab order. A small legend in the filter bar names the
coloured left-edge row marker: green over $1,000/mo savings, amber over
$100/mo (tr.high-savings / medium-savings).

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Follow-up to "compact data tables with one header style" (cherry-pick
with it): one-line headers and cells had pushed the sixteen-column
Opportunities table past the 1920px content width, so it scrolled where
it used to fit (table-scroll-affordance spec). Now:

- only the active sort column shows its chevron (aria-sort and the
pointer/hover header button still mark the rest as sortable)
- sort-button labels and plain headers may wrap between words when the
table is squeezed; the chevron and funnel stay beside the label
- 12px between columns, account and resource type truncate at 11rem with
a title tooltip, service badges at 9rem

API keys request counts are right-aligned under right-aligned headers
(th/td .num), like every other count column.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Follow-up to "fit Opportunities at 1920px with compact headers": when
the table is squeezed and a sort label wraps, the inline sort button took
the whole cell width and pushed the filter funnel over the next header,
which then intercepted clicks on it (recommendations.spec). The sort
button and funnel now sit in a .th-inner nowrap flex row capped at the
cell width, so the label wraps inside its button and the funnel stays
put.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Follow-up to the sticky actions commit, from the 1440px after shots:

- planned purchases: the region moves under the resource type on a
muted second line (the plan name cell is two lines already) and plan
names truncate at 9rem, so more columns fit beside the sticky actions
- purchase history: a failure hint is a fixed 13rem block that breaks
long AWS / Azure error codes, so the Retry link beside it stays inside
the sticky column instead of running off the card

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Follow-up to the compact tables commit: the reshape table's Reason
column sat behind the sticky actions column at 1440px. Source RI ids
truncate at 7rem (full id in the title tooltip) and wrapping text cells
start at 10rem, so the whole table fits beside its actions.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Follow-up to "keep table selection and action columns in view": at 390px
the approval queue's action cell ("Awaiting different approver" plus
Cancel) and the purchase history's Plan cell (failure hints, lineage
links) are wider than half the card, so the pinned column covered the
rest of every row. At 640px and below those two tables let the action
cell scroll with the row again, as on main; the other tables keep their
narrow pinned actions. The phone card layout for these two tables
replaces this in its own change.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Follow-up to "don't pin wide approval queue and history actions on
phones": the restored scroll fade uses main's 12% edge (built from a
colour token) instead of fading to nothing, and also applies when the
table itself is the scroller.

Walkthrough

The frontend adds shared formatters for payment, term, and currency values. It applies compact layouts and sticky columns across tables, updates RI exchange notices, and changes filter popovers to track visible triggers during scrolling and after filter commits.

Changes: Frontend table experience

Layer / File(s) Summary
Shared table formatting
frontend/src/lib/table-format.ts, frontend/src/history.ts, frontend/src/plans.ts, frontend/src/inventory.ts, frontend/src/recommendations.ts, frontend/src/riexchange.ts, frontend/src/__tests__/*
Shared functions format payment options, short terms, ISO terms, and decimal-string currency. Table views use the formatters for values and filter labels. Tests cover formatter behavior and updated labels.
Compact table views
frontend/src/styles/tables.css, frontend/src/apikeys.ts, frontend/src/history.ts, frontend/src/icons.ts, frontend/src/inventory.ts, frontend/src/plans.ts, frontend/src/recommendations.ts, frontend/src/riexchange.ts, frontend/src/__tests__/*, frontend/tests-e2e/table-css-hygiene.spec.ts
Table markup and styles add compact spacing, wrapping, truncation, sticky columns, and updated row controls. RI exchange notices use warning or error callouts. The shared icon set adds clipboard-check; table headers retain their written case.
Scroll-aware filter popovers
frontend/src/lib/table-scroll.ts, frontend/src/lib/history-filter-popover.ts, frontend/src/recommendations.ts, frontend/src/__tests__/table-scroll.test.ts, frontend/src/__tests__/history-filter-popover-scope.test.ts, frontend/src/__tests__/recommendations.test.ts
anchorInView checks visibility within the viewport and clipping ancestors. History and recommendation popovers reposition while their triggers remain visible and close when triggers move out of view. Filter commits re-anchor an open popover when rendering replaces its trigger.

The compact tables remain mergeable with bounded follow-up: missing terms can display inconsistently, and filtering can leave a popover beside a clipped trigger. Filtering and selection still work; no material data or availability failure is established.

Clicking a column funnel at the clipped right edge of a table scroller
(Monthly Savings on Opportunities at a 1280px window with wider fonts,
as on the CI runner) scrolls the table to reveal the button, and the
Opportunities scroll strip mirrors that scroll one frame later. Those
scroll events reached the popover's capture-phase "scroll closes it"
listener after the click had opened it, so the popover closed at once
(recommendations.spec "Filter Monthly Savings" dialog never found).
Momentum scrolling or a quick click after dragging the table hits the
same race.

Both header-filter popovers (Opportunities and the purchase history /
approval queue tables) now follow their button through a scroll while
any part of it is on screen (new anchorInView in lib/table-scroll.ts:
inside the viewport and every clipping ancestor), and close once it has
scrolled out of view. Scrolls inside the popover are still ignored.

Tests: anchorInView cases in table-scroll.test.ts; a recommendations
case for a scroll that keeps the trigger on screen (popover stays,
re-anchored). The existing "scroll outside closes it" case still holds
for an unrendered / off-screen trigger.

Add a test for a button below a vertically clipping scroller.

None of the four anchorInView tests depends on the vertical clip in the ancestor loop. The "above the viewport" case returns false because the viewport clamp leaves a negative span. A regression that removes top and bottom clipping would leave every existing result unchanged. The popover-follow logic depends on this check, so the gap matters for the behavior the PR adds.

A button inside the viewport but below the scroller's bottom edge returns false only because of the vertical clip. Without that clip, the same button returns true. This case detects the regression.

Suggested test
   test('a button above the viewport is out of view', () => {
     const { button, scroller } = mount();

Committing a purchase history / approval queue column filter re-renders
the table (innerHTML), which replaces the trigger button with a fresh
one carrying aria-expanded="false" while the popover, portalled to
<body>, stays open. Screen readers then announced a collapsed button
next to an open dialog, and the popover kept the position of the old
button.

renderHistoryFilterButton now renders aria-expanded="true" for the
column whose popover is open, and after each commit the popover is
re-anchored to the new button (aria-expanded set, position recomputed).
The anchor was already looked up by scope and column, so nothing kept
a reference to the detached button. The Opportunities popover already
did this in rebindOpenPopoverAnchor; a new recommendations test pins it.

Adds the case of a button inside the viewport but below a vertically
clipping scroller; it fails if anchorInView ignores the ancestor's top
and bottom edges.

Both CodeRabbit findings on b0f7a91 are fixed:

  • aria-expanded after a re-render (history-filter-popover.ts): f7bc076
  • anchorInView vertical-clip test (nitpick): 3f66a30. This adds a test for a button that sits inside the viewport but below the scroller's bottom edge. The test fails if the vertical clip is removed.

The fixes are merged into #1613, #1614, #1615 and #1616.

formatTermShort only guarded null and non-finite values, so a recommendation with term 0 rendered "0 yr" in Opportunities. It now reuses isRealTerm, so non-positive terms are empty, and the Opportunities term cells, term range and term filter label show the same dash as the history and plans tables.

Fix pushed as 07e7092 (fix(tables): treat a zero term as missing in formatTermShort).

Finding: a recommendation with term 0 rendered "0 yr" in Opportunities. On main the same row rendered "0 Years" (it used formatTerm, which only guards null/NaN), so this was not a regression in kind, but the new formatTermShort documented an empty result for a missing term and history (isRealTerm) and plans (n > 0) already show a dash.

Changes:

  • formatTermShort now returns '' for any non-positive or non-finite term (reuses isRealTerm).
  • Opportunities term cell, the group-row term, the child-row term and formatTermRange show the em dash instead of an empty cell or " – 3 yr" when a term is missing.
  • The term filter popover label for a non-positive value falls back to the raw value (same as plans).

Evidence (test written first, failed, then passed):

  • Before the fix: table-format.test.ts formatTermShort(0) expected "" received "0 yr"; the new Opportunities cell test failed on not.toMatch(/0 yr/). 2 failed, 41 passed in the term-filtered run.
  • After: 43 passed in the same run.
  • Full npm test: exit 1, 4609 passed, 2 failed, 1 skipped (4612 total); the 2 failures are the known savings-history DST ones. npm run lint exit 0, npm run build exit 0.

The range helper change has no direct test (the function is not exported).

Nitpick Assert the repositioned popover in the re-anchor test.

103-106: 📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick win

Assert the repositioned popover in the re-anchor test.

The test named "keeps the new button expanded and re-anchors to it" does not check position. Removing the positionPopover call after the commit still passes every assertion, because aria-expanded is set separately. Give the replacement button a mocked bounding rectangle after the table re-renders. Then assert the popover's style.top and style.left.

Render an empty term endpoint as a dash in grouped term ranges.

formatTermRange joins an empty endpoint directly into the range. A group that holds a term-0 variant and a one-year variant displays – 1 yr in the unselected summary row. The new test uses a single term-0 recommendation, which renders as a flat row and never reaches this path.

Check the rebuilt filter button before repositioning after a commit.

After a commit, the wrapper repositions the popover to the rebuilt filter button without the anchorInView check that the scroll handler applies. If the rebuilt button is clipped by its table scroller, the dialog stays open beside it until the next scroll, outside click, or Escape. Apply the same visibility check before positionPopover, and close the popover when the button is out of view.

Use the missing-term rule in the checkbox label.

For a recommendation with term: 0, the row's term cell shows NO_VALUE (—), but the checkbox aria-label still reads "0 Years". Apply the same non-positive check that formatTermShort uses when building selectLabel, so the accessible name matches the visible cell.

…matSavingsRange

The previous commit put the empty-endpoint guard in formatSavingsRange, where it was dead because formatCurrency never returns an empty string, and its message wrongly claimed the formatTermRange change. The guard now lives in formatTermRange, so a group with a missing term shows the real endpoint or a dash instead of ' – 3 yr' or an empty value. formatSavingsRange is back to its original body.

Follow-up commit 2a0f2a0 (fix(tables): apply the missing-term guard to formatTermRange, not formatSavingsRange).

The previous commit (07e7092) message claimed a formatTermRange change, but the guard if (!lo || !hi) return lo || hi || NO_VALUE; landed in formatSavingsRange, where it was dead (formatCurrency never returns ''). formatTermRange was unchanged, so a group with one term-0 and one term-3 variant read "term: – 3 yr" on the group and child summary rows, and an all-zero group showed an empty value.

This commit moves the guard into formatTermRange (before the equality check) and restores formatSavingsRange to its original body. Mixed 0/3 now reads "term: 3 yr"; all-zero reads "term: —".

Evidence: two new rendered-group-row tests (mixed 0/3, all-zero) failed first ("term: – 3 yr" and an empty value; 2 failed, 442 skipped), then pass with the fix. Full npm test: exit 1, 4611 passed, 2 failed (the known savings-history DST ones), 1 skipped, 4614 total. Lint exit 0, build exit 0.

Merge gate record (burndown orchestrator)

Independent adversarial review (claude-opus-5-5)
#1612 @ 3f66a30: NO CONFIRMED FINDINGS
Range reviewed: full diff against merge-base 43dd618 (21 files, 14 commits). The 9 changed jest suites pass, 671/671.

  • Money formatting: no money cell changed meaning. The approval queue and history still use formatCurrency with NO_VALUE or a dash for null (no made-up $0). formatDecimalStringCurrency returns non-numeric input unchanged and only rounds the RI-exchange payment_due to cents. formatTermShort rounds as formatTerm did. Inventory now shows '' for a missing term instead of "undefinedy".
  • Row actions: Approve and Cancel are icon-only with aria-label and title, each still bound to its own row via data-approve-id/data-cancel-id read per button (history.ts:1496, 1544). sameRowActions still finds the cell through closest('td').
  • Shared CSS: every use of .table-compact and .table-sticky-* checked (apikeys, history, plans, inventory, riexchange, recommendations). Pinned cells take background-color: inherit and all hover/selected styles are on the tr, so pinned cells are never transparent; no sticky thead to collide with; on phones the queue and history action cells are unpinned.
  • XSS: every new title attribute and payment/term label goes through escapeHtml/escapeHtmlAttr or textContent. Savings-stripe thresholds (>$1,000 and >$100 per month) match recommendations.ts:3337.
  • Mutation probes (scratch copy): anchorInView clip, popover aria-expanded and the recs scroll re-anchor each fail a test. Two probes survived as coverage gaps, not defects: the onCommit re-position, and decimals beyond 2 in formatDecimalStringCurrency.

Rounds 2-3 (same reviewer) on the fix commits:
#1612 @ 2a0f2a0: NO CONFIRMED FINDINGS (fix range 3f66a30..2a0f2a0, same reviewer, rounds 2 and 3)

  • Round 2 (@ 07e7092) found the missing-term guard had landed in formatSavingsRange instead of formatTermRange, so a mixed 0/3 group read " – 3 yr"; fixed in 2a0f2a0.
  • At 2a0f2a0 a zero or missing term shows as a dash in every Opportunities term display and every valid term shows as before: formatTermShort returns '' for anything isRealTerm rejects; single-variant cells fall back to NO_VALUE; formatTermRange guards before the equality check (mixed 0/3 group reads "3 yr", all-zero group reads a dash).
  • formatSavingsRange is byte-identical to main. The term filter changes only its label and still filters on the raw value. lib/purchase-row-guards.ts has no imports, so no cycle.
  • recommendations.test and table-format.test 447/447 at 2a0f2a0. The new parametrized test fails both cases when run against the 07e7092 recommendations.ts. git merge-tree against current main is clean.

Local verification
Local verification on macOS @ 3f66a30: PASS with one finding (fixed in a follow-up commit, re-verified below)

  • npm test exit 1: 4608 passed / 2 failed / 1 skipped (176 suites); the 2 failures are the savings-history.test.ts DST tests, pre-existing on main at that base. npm run lint exit 0 (0 errors), npm run build exit 0.
  • Real local stack (Postgres, main-built backend, this SHA's dist, Playwright) with fixture-labelled data: a fake account, 2 recommendations (one with a missing term and null monthly cost), 2 pending queue items, failed and completed history rows (one null upfront), a plan-linked planned purchase, an RI exchange row, 2 API keys.
  • Opportunities, Planned purchases, Approval queue, History, RI exchange, API keys at 1440x900 and 390x844: pinned cells are sticky, inside the scroller and opaque at scrollLeft 0 and max. On phones the queue and history action columns are intentionally unpinned (tables.css:542-553).
  • Money cells match the API after the existing whole-dollar rounding (4321.99 -> $4,322; 2500.75 -> $2,501; RI exchange 184.22 -> $184.22); null upfront and null monthly cost show a dash, not $0.
  • Queue buttons: aria-label "Approve"/"Cancel", titles set, svg aria-hidden, 28px desktop / 44px phone; each button's data id equals its row's execution id. Cancel on row 2 sent exactly one POST /purchases/cancel/<row-2 id> (aborted, nothing mutated). Approve was intentionally not executed.
  • Filter popovers (queue Account, history Provider): Enter opens with focus inside, Escape closes, focus returns to the trigger.
  • Finding: a recommendation with term 0 rendered "0 yr" in Opportunities (recommendations.ts:3294), while history and plans show a dash; formatTermShort did not treat 0 as missing.

Re-verification on macOS @ 2a0f2a0 (final head, after the term fixes): PASS

  • npm test exit 1: 4611 passed / 2 failed / 1 skipped (the 2 pre-existing savings-history DST tests on this branch's older base; CI on this SHA against current main is green). lint exit 0, build exit 0.
  • Opportunities at 1440x900 and 390x844 with added fixture groups: single term-0 row shows a dash, real terms "3 yr"; a mixed 0/3 group row reads "term: 3 yr"; an all-zero group reads "term: —". The term filter still filters on the value (selecting "3 yr" leaves only 3-yr rows); its term-0 option is labelled "0" (cosmetic).
  • Re-checked: queue Cancel on row 2 sent only that row's id (aborted, nothing mutated); pinned cells opaque on desktop; null upfront shows a dash.

Screenshots (1440x900 and 390x844) are kept with the local run evidence; not attached here.
CodeRabbit not run: the exact-SHA local verification and the Opus review above cover this SHA (repo CLAUDE.md review gate).
