feat: add page-sort install/list/remove for pkc-js page sort packages - #172
Conversation
Move the npm helpers to common-utils/npm.ts and the install/list/remove/load/reload machinery to common-utils/package-registry.ts, parameterized by a PackageKind (subdir, pkc-js registry key, cache-bust param, label). challenge-utils keeps its exports as thin wrappers, so page sort packages can reuse the same code (#164).
- bitsocial page-sort install|list|remove (same aliases as challenge), packages in
${dataPath}/page-sorts/<name>, built on the shared package registry
- install validates the default export with pkc-js validatePageSortFileFactory
(challenge install now uses validateChallengeFileFactory) before replacing an install
- remove refuses while a community's settings.pages names the package, or when the
daemon cannot be reached to check; --force skips the check
- the daemon loads page sort packages into PKC.pageSorts on start and serves
/api/page-sorts/reload
- both reload endpoints notify RPC settings subscribers with
rpcServer.notifySettingsChange() instead of running every private settings-change
handler, which restarted every started community (#171)
- upgrade @pkcprotocol/pkc-js to 0.0.115

Restrict package names to the package directory
For the new page-sort commands, name can contain .. segments and path.join normalizes them outside page-sorts. For example, page-sort remove ../communities --force resolves to ${dataPath}/communities and recursively deletes all community data; similarly, a locally packed package named ../challenges/foo can replace an installed challenge. Validate npm package-name syntax and verify the resolved path remains beneath packagesDir before any filesystem operation.

Agreed, and challenge remove on master already had this. Fixed in 79ed6e4: packageNameToDir now requires an npm name (pkg or @scope/pkg, segments [a-zA-Z0-9~-][a-zA-Z0-9._~-]*, so no ., .. or separators) and checks that the resolved dir stays inside the packages dir. installPackage validates pkg.name before running npm install, and both remove commands report an invalid name as a CLI error (page-sort remove does it before contacting the daemon). Tests: test/cli/package-registry.test.ts (valid names plus 12 rejected ones, including ../communities, @scope/.. and foo\\..\\..\\bar), and challenge remove ../communities now leaves ${dataPath}/communities intact. That test deleted it before the fix.

Preserve the remote authentication path in reload URLs
When --pkcRpcUrl is a remote daemon URL such as ws://host:9138/<auth-key>, this always posts to the unauthenticated /api/.../reload route, which the server rejects for non-local sockets; the actual remote route is /<rpcAuthKey>/api/.../reload in daemon-server.ts. The commands silently treat that 403 as “not reloaded,” so an install or removal does not take effect until restart. Preserve the RPC URL pathname when constructing the endpoint (and map wss to https).

Agreed. Fixed in 79ed6e4: the reload URL now keeps the --pkcRpcUrl path, so ws://host:9138/<authKey> posts to /<authKey>/api/.../reload (the route daemon-server.ts serves for remote connections), and wss maps to https. New cases are in challenge-daemon-reload-target.test.ts. One caveat: install/remove write to the local --pkcOptions.dataPath, so reloading a daemon on another machine only helps when it shares that data directory (e.g. a Docker volume).
A package name became a path under the packages dir without validation, so
`challenge remove ../communities` deleted ${dataPath}/communities and a package.json
name with .. could install outside it. Names must now be npm names (pkg or
@scope/pkg) and the resolved dir must stay inside the packages dir.
The reload URL dropped the --pkcRpcUrl path, so a daemon reached through its auth
key got the local-only route and answered 403. Keep the path and map wss to https.

- the daemon loads page sort packages installed before it started - the real @pkcprotocol/active-page-sort installs through the validator and a community accepts it with its documented options - page-sort remove refuses while a community uses the package (read through a real RPC client, not a fake), then removes it and connected clients drop it - the reload routes answer through the auth key URL a remote client would use
