The 2026-10-27 ruling that every claim in the record has one home was recorded only as a decision line. This makes it a principle and points the decision at it.

  • .abcd/development/principles/every-claim-has-one-home.md states the rule, why restated claims drift (with the 2026-10-26 consistency pass's counts), and its bounds:
    • a one-line pointer is not a second home;
    • neither is a generated copy with a matching check;
    • history kept in git and in dated records isn't one either;
    • the glossary is the home for terms;
    • code stays under the one-canonical-primitive principle.
      It also says the rule is unenforced and what a lint would need to check to promote it.
  • The decision keeps the dated event and the brief-specific answers the ruling settled, and links to the principle for the rule itself.
  • The OPINIONS rules domain names the new principle.

Reviewed by an Opus and a Sonnet reviewer. One major finding (the evidence misdescribed what the consistency pass compared) and four minor ones were fixed, and the re-review closed all six. Records only, with no code change. The one behavioural difference is that the OPINIONS domain injects one more line when it matches.

Commits:

  • docs: state the one-home rule as a principle and point its ruling at it
  • fix: act on the review of the one-home principle

The 2026-10-27 ruling that every claim in the record has one home was kept
only as a decision line. It now has a principle stating the rule and its
bounds (a one-line pointer, a generated copy with a matching check and
history kept in git are not second homes; code primitives stay under one
canonical primitive), the decision keeps the dated event and the brief's
specific answers and points to the principle, and the OPINIONS rules
domain names it.

Say what the 2026-10-26 consistency pass compared (the brief and the
intents, each against the rest) and what it found, rather than claiming its
findings were paraphrased command pages and ADRs; narrow the drift claim to
markdown links, since a bare path in a rules domain is checked by nothing;
bring the intents, ADRs, decisions and docs/ inside the rule, with dated
records counted as history; add the promotion rung; and keep the glossary
among the answers the ruling settled.
