[::nold-ai/specfact-cli-modules::] - Semgrep is only a development dependency (
semgrep>=1.144.0) and scan command; the code-review module manifest does not declare it as a runtime dependency.[::nold-ai/specfact-cli-modules::] - Module payload changes require checksum/version verification and potentially signatures, but this PR introduces no companion-module asset changes, so no module version bump or signature update is indicated.

Keep admitted bytes immutable through installation
When a caller follows the exposed API and installs admitted.wheel after admit_artifact returns, this object retains only the original mutable path. Replacing that file after the final hash check makes AdmittedWheel.wheel refer to bytes that were never approved or provenance-verified, and installation does not invoke audit_input, where the only later digest check exists. Preserve the verified snapshot in a trusted immutable location or make installation consume an operation that revalidates the bytes atomically.

Confirmed with the real public admission boundary using only the existing external policy/provenance mocks. Replacing the original file after return changes the bytes exposed through admitted.wheel. Nothing was installed, and production admissions remain empty.
Two frozen acceptance assertions explicitly require the original path. Replacing them changes the approved proof inputs; the native provenance guard correctly prevents reusing the existing 85-case RED for that changed contract. I am preparing a concrete snapshot/materialization contract and revised test-only proof proposal for exact owner acceptance. No production fix, authority expansion or waived gate is being claimed. This thread stays open.

The owner-approved test-only successor is #778 at signed Genuine same-branch hosted RED is now verified before any production restoration. Requirements run 39245425557 and artifact 12183746628 bind that source/tree, protected base The workflow remains failed at this test-only checkpoint, with its expected “Red proof retained; final reconciliation is required” result. This is failing-first proof, not implementation GREEN or protected authority. Production is absent in the RED source and base. Per the explicit owner-approved sequence, #776 can now close unmerged as superseded. Its original 85-case proof, 21-cell evidence and open installation-path finding remain historical evidence. That finding is not claimed fixed by this test-only successor. Implementation, final native storage/lifecycle proof, reviews and all existing gates will continue on #778. Planning modules #517 and core #770 remain planning-only. No merge or protected admission is authorized. |
Problem and behavior
Frozen Semgrep metadata pins vulnerable MCP 1.29.0. This adds a downstream candidate build and admission boundary for MCP 1.30.0. Production pins and the frozen security audit remain unchanged until authenticated protected adoption exists.
Candidate verification checks canonical wheel bytes, runtime and command evidence, policy digests, inventory and provenance. Upstream digest validation and transformation share one byte snapshot. Admission hashes and parses the same matrix snapshot and binds reopened recipes to approval. The SDK probe checks actual constructor defaults. Windows checkout preserves recipe bytes, and bound input changes schedule native acceptance.

e37204f8passed Requirements at verified maturity with all 85 original cases passing, zero errors or skips, and authenticated service-artifact, source, mapping, plan and JUnit bindings. All 21 actual native cells and aggregate passed, including Windows. The protected producer was skipped and production admission was not requested.The focused local selection passes 144 cases. Upstream replacement regressions produced three failures before the fix and retain three passing controls. Frozen proof inputs remain unchanged. Strict OpenSpec, Requirements planning, canonical types and lint, independent review, normal signed hooks and retained-RED freshness pass. Only unchanged predecessor review dispositions apply. Native hooks skipped contract execution for unchanged inputs.
Remaining gates
Current review 4311564656 remains open. The admitted object returns the mutable original wheel path. A later write can therefore change installation bytes. Two frozen tests explicitly require that path. A revised immutable-byte and context-scoped materialization contract is being prepared separately for exact owner acceptance and new hosted RED. Existing approval and passing checks do not authorize changed proof inputs. No production correction or successor publication is claimed for this finding.
Security Audit and exact-tree authority remain required. Admissions are empty and the protected producer intentionally refuses bootstrap. This infrastructure alone does not fix #770's frozen audit.
Refs #772 under #747. Supersedes closed unmerged #775 after verified RED; #774 and #773 remain historical. Modules #517 and core #770 stay planning-only. Separate modules maintenance is #519. No merge, release or protected grant is requested.
